Need help

I just went to the doctor and he did an exam because I have been in pain for 2 to three years now. The first doctor said I had a prolapsed uterus, but it wasn't bad enough to remove. So I lived with it. I went for my next year check up.. the pain seems worse and worse. She says that I do not have a prolapsed uterus. I get refered to a urologist because of urgency of bladder.
He prescribes me Celexa for depression. I take it three months. I still have pain. I'm on my third doctor. He says I do not have a prolapsed uterus and reccomends an MRI to test for a pinched nerve. ! I go for the CA 125 and the transvaginal tests, they are normal. I haven't had the mri yet. I was in terrible pain after the transvaginal ultrasound and still in pain. I live with iit. It's worse and worse. I'm so frustrated. I do not know what to tell the doctor, because this is hard to define. It hurt like crazy when I had that test and I know that that is not normal. Please someone tell me what to ask for. What tests do I need to require. I'm going to lose it . I have another appointment in a week. Could someone please tell me what tests to ask for. I have had polyps before and they were removed. The pain is excrutiating when touched by the transvaginal probe but I had no pain when the doctor examined me, or when I have intercourse. I had just started my perod the morning of the transvaginal ultrasound, but she said that wouldn't effect anything. Please help! Thanks for this wonderful site!

I am so sorry to read of all you have been through and are still going through. Hopefully the MRI will pinpoint something for the docs to fix.
I really have no further suggestions for you other than keep at it!
And keep your chin up as well.

Thank you KarenAnn! I'm sorry to sound so desparate. I know there are so many women with these kinds of problems. I wish that doctors would be more thorough in the first place and just do every test they know. I hate playing these guessing games. I am very upset that I have been to the doctors for 3 years and still have the problem only worse, and no one can tell me what it is. It is frustrating, to say the least.
I really appreciate this site and your kind words too.

Hi

What frustration--and that ever present run-around and the it-must-be-in-her-head. Been there, done that... (not with the ovarian, luckily)

The MRI will show a lot of things and if it is a nerve will pick that up. I've had them for nerve problems. This is a good test.

May they get to the bottom of what's causing your pain and fix it--not just go "hmmm" but fix it!

I hope you will get the MRI as the Dr suggests, I know its frustrating when you're trying to get to the bottom of a problem but this is one of those tests that tell a mulitude of things.

I hope you'll soon get some answers and better yet, some relief. Keep us posted on how you are doing when you can.
