Aussie Sisters

Hi

I must first say I love this web site it has put many of my fears to rest.

I am 2 days away from surgery and getting a bit nervous, are there any Australian Sisters out there who have had a TVH? I would love to hear your experiences. I am wondering if there is anything different to the American stories , which have been of so much benefit to me.

I would really love to hear from anyone who has had a TVH. I have devoured all of the message boards here but I guess I feel knowledge is power. So anything that you think might be useful post to me.

I am quite concerned about my littlest child she is only 3 and is a mummies girl, I know I can't pick her up but I should be able to still have plently of cuddles on my lap? Right?

thank you all so much this is the best site on the web

Jo

LAVH

Dear Ozzie Sister:

I had a LAVH one week ago. I wouldn't be expecting cuddles with the 3-year old on your lap for a few days. I have felt very well, and was out of the hospital in less than 24 hours. Nonetheless, I do feel stiff and sore, which varies according to how much I "overdo it." It seems my body doesn't quite grasp the fact that it has had some major surgery, and needs to take it easy for a little while longer. I can report my daughter (6) has been getting plenty of snuggle-time, but I have admonished her not to be crashing into my midsection.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly you do feel like getting up and walking around, and starting to resume your normal routine. Just be aware that you may take a few steps backward from day to day, and don't fall behind your pain medications! You'll do great ... good luck to you!
