Re: March 15, today is my b-day and feeling yucky

Hi Thundercat!

My last reply was on 3/17, the one where I post I was tired bc my cell kept resending repeat text messages to me 5 AM.. I dont think you replied??? Its the post above this one. Tonite, I just posted a reply to you & this site lost my message just now! So Im posting again now..Ugh!

So, How are you? Have you had any improvement? You said you're still having issues; whats going on?

This hyserectomy recovery is just so odd. Its like baby steps up & a bit back & has us all over the place. Overall, I think Im doing good. Of course, I'm still not 100%.. I think Drs just dont tell us everything.. The fatigue has improved, I havent increased lifting past 20 lbs. Last week, I jumped when my dog ran in the house & startled me. So I had some pulling sensations for a few days..Thats OK now.

For me, Im still mostly dealing w the dreaded swelly belly. I start out AM not too bad, then as I get active during the day, it creeps back. Ive tried reduce activity, increase activity, ab binder on, then off & it doesnt matter, its the same! Id like to look into some treatments to see if something will help, but I feel like I have so much on my plate, trying to keep up. (I feel Ive been in a time warp).. I dont have much spare time. I also have a project that I need to get going on, plus all the expenses w my surgery, my down time from work, I dont get paid for, now April is here, tax time.. so, I don't know when Ill have chance to check into further. ??

Well,Thundercat, let me know how you're doing. I certainly hope you feel better! Take care of yourself!

Lailastar,
I got that message, I'm sorry I thought I replied to it. I've been great for the most part, but the other day I think I overdid it. I had a dresser I wanted to paint for years. I figured it wouldn't hurt to do a little at a time take a rest then go back. Well, I did that and broke it up into different times. When I needed to get to bottom, I sat on the floor to prevent bending over. I finally finished it but, after that, the next day and today I've been feeling a pull worse than before I started. I had to take pain medication to help reduce the pain. I should've waited to do that. I just hope I didn't hurt anything on inside. Other than that I doing well, still don't feel I'm ready to return to work i will talk with Dr next week. I'm still dealing with the swelly also. And I haven't even gotten around to getting my taxes done either. I know you will handle whatever comes your way. Just try to rest in between. Hope everything goes well, keep me posted.

Re: March 15, today is my b-day and feeling yucky

Hi Thundercat!

The bending does put a strain on us & its easy to do. We dont realize that its a bit much until we're right there (guilty) in the middle of it! I know what you mean.. The lifting usually clicks, we know dont lift heavy, but bending just seams so easy..

I wasnt able to bend till week 5 & even then, I wasnt bending to do work. I found it easier to squat to pick things up. My abs were so weak post op.. Id say maybe you jumped to the project just a bit early?? So, try not to strain yourself. I do like cold packs or heating pads when I feel aches & pains.

I presume you should have your 6 week post op appt soon? Make notes everything you want to discuss w Dr, including medications, restrictions, activities & of course your work related questions.

It sounds like you are making progress.. I know, this recovery is at a much slower pace than we want. All as I can say, when Drs say a hysterectomy is 6-8 week recovery, um, yeah right, they forget to be specific on exact details. I have a hard time believing fully recovered, bc Im on 11 weeks & Im not there yet..

I hope you feel better; each week you should notice feeling a bit better. Oh, did you get the dryer? Im having issues w Verizon. They migrated all emails to another co!.. Always something!

Well, stay out of trouble! Take care!

Lailastar,
Just saying , I hope everything is going well for you at work and with your recovery. I'm doing better, I was given 2 additional weeks off from work. I was still experiencing some abdominal pain. Happy Spring to you and have a blessed day!

Re: March 15, today is my b-day and feeling yucky

I had to respond as my Birthday was March 16th and also the day of my surgery as it was only date available unless i wanted to wait for another month or so. That being said I have been healing pretty well. Although they did the davinci and left my ovaries. Crying was a big thing for a bit. So The emotions and extra stress i understand even though I thought I would not have to deal with any of it since i kept my ovaries! My new struggle is selfish and well i will not throw that at you! But sending big hugs to a fellow March/Pisces sister! I hope all gets better and easier and i am focused on next years birthday!!!!

Slayer816,
Thank you for the support, sorry you had to do it on your birthday. I know it can be emotional but hang in there it's gonna get better. The surgery for me was much better than what I thought it would be. When my birthday came I felt unsure what I wanted to do. It was a month after surgery so I was still having some discomfort. Even now still recovering. Next year our birthday will be alot better for the both of us. We have put tell worst behind us and the best is yet to come. you're gonna be in no time. Be blessed my Pisces sister

Lailastar,
How are you doing? I hope everything is going great for you and with work. I'm doing well due to return to work on May 2nd. I'm still having soreness in abdomin. Overall I'm doing well. Best wishes to you.

Re: March 15 today, is my b-day and feeling yucky

Thanks and yes next year sure will be.....My next venture is back surgery everything slammed me this year after 46 years of being healthy as a horse. Feeling down with how weak i feel and sometimes stress to motivate as my personality makes me feel so lazy even though everyone and my head tells me not to. Us pisces are busy fishes... LOL!

Re: March 15 today, is my b-day and feeling yucky

Happy Birthday!!!🎉🎉 You are lucky you got to go out. I got to come home from the hospital on my birthday after surgery so I was pretty much drugged and didn't care. I celebrated so much more this past birthday to make up for it. Take care and don't sweat the small stuff! ❤️
