Starting to wonder if I should go through with the hysterectomy - surgery keeps getting postponed. Anyone else?

I was initially scheduled to have surgery March 21st, but because my insurance was too slow to approve it, it was rescheduled to April 11. Today I get the call that the surgeon will now be out of town on April 11 and now it is being moved to April 18th! I just feel so frustrated and annoyed. Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation?

Re: Starting to wonder if I should go through with the surgery.

I understand what you are going through. I was initially scheduled to go in on March 22 and my doctor's office had sent in the paperwork over three weeks in advance of the surgery. Because insurance had a few questions on whether certain procedures were done and how my doctor was approaching removing my uterus, etc. the Thursday before my surgery, my doctor's office thought it was best to move the date because insurance may have required additional procedures be complete.

Here I am rescheduled to April 14th and I thought that I had enough anxiety leading up the the 22nd! From a timing perspective, it isn't perfect, but I know that I need it done and am now preparing for the 14th.

After this happened, I started listening to meditation type CD's regarding preparing for surgery and it has been helpful to me in being less anxious and going in with a positive attitude.

We are not too far from one another in terms of dates. I wouldn't despair because the date has changed. I wish you the best of luck.

Hi tiapiaa -

I know having your surgery date changed can be very frustrating. It makes you want to and . I have read multiple cases of women having their surgery rescheduled for various reasons. It does happen - you are not the only one.

Hopefully the April 18 day will stick.
