I'll see if I can get this into English.

Researchers have found that some endometrial cancer cells have a particular genetic marker. Cancer cells with high levels of the marker are more likely to recur. Cancer cells with low levels of the marker are less likely to recur.

The marker is DNA methylation.

Healthy cells have almost none of it. African American women apparently tend to have higher levels and so have more problems with endometrial cancer.

If doctors could test for the marker, they could give more aggressive treatment while women without the marker could avoid what would unnecessary radiation.

Right now, doctors don't have this test--but if you were near a research hospital, you could point at the article reference at the end of this post and see if they know about this.

There was a post not to long ago that a sisters Dr. told her there is never a surity that endometrial cancer wouldn't come back. She said we wouldn't like hearing that and I didn't. Maybe this is what the Dr. was talking about. Every Dr. I have gone to says, don't worry, once the uterus is gone, the cancer is too. I guess never say never.
