Possible cancellation

Hello everyone,

I had my pre-op day at the hospital yesterday. I'm getting a TAH next tuesday (june 11th). However, last night I started getting the chills and now seems to have all the symptoms of a really bad flu. My throat is extremely soar, I cough really bad, my lungs feel like burning and the list goes on.....I'm lucky I do not have a fever.

I called my surgeon and he told me to rest, rest, rest.....hopefully I'll get better. I have to call him back on Monday and tell him how I'm feeling, the surgery might have to be cancelled and I might have to wait another 3-4 months for the next one..aaaahhhhh!!!

Has this ever happened to any of you....had to cancel surgery because of a flu / fever / or other medical matters???

Be strong, I'm praying for all of you!

p.s.: I had a lung collapse 1 year ago, this is why there are even more careful and concerned about operating if I have signs of lung stress.

Take Care!!!

s to you Anna-Maria

I'm hoping and praying that this is a really short bout for you. I have had the same fear, especially when I got really sick last week - but I'm better now - had my pre-op nurse call today and we're all ready to go.

Rest, rest, rest - lot's of liquids

Take Care

Hi Anna-Maria

Sweetie I do hope you are resting and drinking lots of fluids. Don't think there is much to do but wait and see if it goes away fast. you have 3 days and maybe with all our you will be fine or at least well enough for the surgery. And I see why they have to be carefull about your surgery with the lung thing. God Bless and just know that I am for you.
