I am not having very good luck

On my two week post op anniversary, I started discharging from my incision a lot of stuff and a little blood. Off to the doctor's I go. He took a culture of the stuff, put me on antibiotics and tried resealing it. Home I go. Two days later I start bleeding very bright red from my vagina. Next day, back to the doctor's I go. He checks incision. Says it's healing nicely and to resume showering. Since the bleeding had stopped vaginally he just said to not lift or push anything heavy. To celebrate that night, I went to dinner. Ran into some friends I hadn't seen for awhile and ended up staying 2 1/2 hours talking.

My stomach was very swollen that night. I came home, rested and then went to bed. Woke up with the incision draining the same way as before again. I think I over did it. It's now the weekend so I'm not going to do anything EXCEPT, I'm going to try wiping it with peroxide like I have read on here and bandaging it as best as I can. I'm still on the antibiotics except that today they will be finished.

Any suggestions at all except rest with my feet up? I intend to do that anyway today.

I am not having a very good recovery.

I am not having very good luck

Hi Jackie, I think you should put in a call to the doctor, just in case he wants to extend your antibiotics or he may even want to see you. If the doctor hasn't had you putting peroxide on the incision, please wait to get his ok before doing so. I'm sorry you are still having these problems, but don't wait until Monday to let the doctor know about the new ones. That is a long time and more infection could set in. Call the office number. There should be instructions on how to reach him or his answering service. Follow the instructions so they can get the information to him. Take care, rest, and let us know what the doctor says.

Hi Jackie-
You already know the answer...REST. Your body is telling you to slow down.
I agree with the others; you should give the doctor a call. Please keep us posted on your progress. Take care.

I am not having very good luck

If you can't get a hold of your doc, please go to ER. My incision started leaking a yellowish fluid at 3 weeks post-op and it turned out to be a NON-infectious seroma. I have now been cleaning and packing it for about 3 1/2 weeks. It is getting much smaller day by day. Please do not just clean it with peroxide and bandage it and think you can take care of it on your own. PLEASE please please see someone about it before it gets worse!

PS My incision never hurt, nor did I have a fever. Also, the seroma was NOT caused by anything I did. It is just fluid that was not reabsorbed by the body and had nowhere to go.

Someone sick the pillow police on Jackie!!!!!!!!!

I think you are overdoing it a bit with the problems you are having.

Please call the Dr and put your butt in bed to rest

I know it is hard but not resting will just prolong your recovery.

Take care of yourself and hope you feel better soon
