Anyone on Estrace?
I was just hoping that I can find what experiences everyone is having with Estrace. My doctor started me on it today. Also, what else you happen to take with it. Any input would be great. Thanks!

Anyone on Estrace?
Gayle,
I've been taking estrace since February and am doing well on it. I did have to tinker with the dose (up then down) and with the time of day (morning, then twice a day, now night), but it has worked well for me.
I do use progesterone cream as well, and vaginal estrogen
I hope you've found success

Hi Dorrie
When I took the ortho tri-cyclen, I was a wreck. I was nauseas, irritable(unbelievably), headachey, and couldn't sleep. Yesterday was my firt time with the Estace. I am hoping that it is just a coincidence, but I didn't sleep last night. And I was so very tired. Just couldn't sleep. The funny thing is that when I was only taking my Calcium, aspirin and Vit. E, I was fine. Slept like a baby. I am just wondering if I really don't need what they are giving me. My moods freak and sleep becomes history. I did just find out that I was already experiencing symptoms of menopause for a couple of years prior to my surgery. Maybe my doctor thinks that my levels prior to the surgery were higher than what they actually were. Does this make sense?

Anyone on Estrace?
I have been taking Estrace for 2years now and seem to do very well with it. I have tried several hormones and this works the best.

Estrace
My dr. put me on Estrace (1 mg) on my 3rd day post-op. I was having problems sleeping and some minor hot flashes/night sweats. So at my 2 week check he put me on 2 mg and told me to take it at night. He said it seems to do better at night. He was right. I've been taking 2 mg. Estrace for a week now and doing fine.
My biggest question is: I'm 39 years old (my TAH/BSO was 6/10/02) -will I be taking HR forever or is there a point when won't? Anyone know about this?

Anyone on Estrace?
Hi,
I was so absorbed with making the decision about whether to have a hysterectomy or not (I had a tAH/bso on May 14) that I didn't really give much thought to or research HRT. The hospital put a patch on me after my operation, but my doctor said that in his experience, some women were bothered by the patch, so I switched to 2 mg estrace, which I've been taking in the morning. I feel absolutely fine. I have had some teariness, but that may well have been due to post-op stress and fatigue.
I'm 47, and my doctor said that he would recommend that I stay on this until my late 50s or so, and then switch to something else--raloxifen?--I'm not sure. I gather it's not that orthodox. But he also said that there's a lot of new research going on, and we'll have to see how it all goes.
For now, I feel good, and plan to do more research on all this when I have time, and keep reading all the good info on this site!

Anyone on Estrace?
I started on Estratest FS but my hot flashes were too much to deal with so my GYN switched me to Estrace 2mg. I've been taking it for a couple of months with no problems.
