Surgery is tomorrow and I'm getting scared!

Hi everyone,

I'm scheduled for a TAH tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. and I'm really starting to get nervous. I'm imagining all kinds of terrible things that will go wrong--even though I know it's rare that these things happen.

I just started taking Go-Lytely a little while ago and it's GROSS! Do you really have to drink that entire giant container of the stuff or can you stop when everything that comes out is liquid? I don't think I can handle the entire container! I had to take Fleet for my colonoscopy last summer and that was pretty disgusting, but I think this is going to be worse just because of the sheer amount I have to drink.

ARRGHHH!! Please, someone--tell me it's going to be worth it!! I've been dealing with fibroids, endo, endo on the bowel problems, heavy bleeding and pain with periods for MANY years.

Me too....

I'm going in for surgery tomorrow also, and I'm in the process of doing the Fleet #3 prep. It is awful!! I had to do it a few weeks ago for a Colonoscopy, and hoped I'd never have to do it again. You can imagine how thrilled I was when the Dr. told me I'd have to do it before surgery! I've heard that Go Litely is awful because of the amount you have to drink. I wish you the best....hopefully by now you're done drinking it! To be honest, I'm planning to skip a few of the tablets I'm supposed to take tonight! I just can't handle it with my surgery scheduled for 7:30AM and I need to be at the castle at 5:30!! I hope all goes well, and I'm sure we'll both be saying this was worth it once it's behind us! Hopefully, we can talk during our recovery time! Take care and hang in there! ((Hugs))

good luck!

Karin, best wishes to you tomorrow!! I don't have any magic words but your situation sounds a lot like mine (fibroids, heavy bleeding, pain) so maybe you can focus on how great you're going to feel when all is said and done.

And if that fails know that someone in Florida is thinking about you and sending lots and lots of positive thoughts your way

I'll be a princess tomorrow too.... and I'm also scared!

I've been runnin' around like a chicken with my head cut off all day long! Got to the store to get the last minute things... 2 fleet enemas... got my hair cut.... got my goodies for the nurses' goody basket...

Whew! Glad I started going over that list! Just realized I forgot my betadine douche and my GIANT panties.... caught my mom and my sis in mom's driveway headed for Walmart! I lucked out!

My sister-in-law just left with my kids about 1/2 hour ago. *pouts*

I have a couple of loads of laundry to do, need to pack, have some fun with hubby, take a bath (not necessarily in that order) and do my 1st bowel prep...

I'll be back a bit later.... gonna spend some of my quiet time here tonight I think.

I have to be at the castle in 9 hours..... good Lord! Where does the time go??!!
