Blood Clots

Hi Sisters! I am 4 weeks post op and doing absolutely wonderful. No pain, nothing! I am, as well as my doctor, very pleased with my recovery.

The only problem I have had is my hand has had a bruised feeling since the surgery. I've just blamed it on the IV because my vein blew and we had to switch hands. Over the weekend, a knot could be seen in my hand. Well my gyn is in Louisiana and I live 2 hours from him in Mississippi. I went to a family doctor here and he said that it's a blood clot.

I also had problems going to the bathroom last weekend. If I had to go really bad, it was hurting so bad that I could hardly walk. Every step hurt. The doctor said it's a urinary tract infection with traces of blood in my urine.

Has this happened to anyone before? Either the blood clots &/or infection.

Thanks a lot!

Blood Clots

Hi Shelli,

I'm glad to hear that you're feeling so well, but sorry to hear about your problems.

It's good that you went to see your Dr. about both your arm and painful bladder. I didn't experience either of these problems, but know that it's very good that you are being treated for them.

I hope both problems clear up quickly as you move along in your revovery. Keep us posted on how you're doing, ok?

Best wishes and s

Blood Clots

UTI's are common after surgery. I know how painful they are. Hopefully you are on the mend now and feeling much better.
