Update - found a new doctor :)

Hello all - I posted over a week ago about my frustration after seeing 2 drs for CIS/LEEP with unclear margins. I saw another dr on Tuesday. She was wonderful! She immediately did an ECC on me (ouch) and she said we will wait for those results and proceed from there. That was Tuesday and I was hoping to get results by the weekend. Shouldn't they have come back by now? Anyway I wanted to thank all of you for responding to my last post and to let everyone out there know if you are not happy with your dr/treatment find a new one! I also have a question. If my path report came back showing CIN3/Carcinoma in Situ, Squamous dysplais, unclear margins with endocervical gland involvement....does the "endocervical gland involvement" mean it may be adenocarcinoma? My dr says no, but I was just wondering if any of you had an experience with that. Thanks.

As for the test results, they do sometimes take some time to get back, but I am sure you will hear early in the week!!
So happy to hear you like your new doctor too. That is so important!!
Keep us posted on the test results!! Keeping good thoughts and prayers!!

Update - found a new doctor :)

Hi, Mamic!

I don't know how I missed your post earlier (thanks, Maria for bumping it back up)!

I'm so glad you found a doctor you like. That is such an important part of good medical care.

It usually takes my lab results 10-14 days to come back, but it can vary from one lab to another, and probably one state to another as well.

I'm not totally sure about your other question, but maybe someone else can give you more information. It sounds like you definitely have squamous involvement, which is the most common form of cervical problems. I'm always a little unclear about what the word "involvement" means. It could just mean that your glandular cells are atypical but not necessarily abnormal. My original PAP (the one that started this train ride) came back showing glandular cell involvement, but when the final biopsy came back after the TAH, nothing was ever mentioned about glandular cells again. When you go over your new results with your doc, make sure you ask her about it again, and ask her to help you understand what that means and what the possible ramifications are.

Good luck! I hope your results come back quickly!
