Benign!

I am out of the hospital after my BSO on Monday for a complex ovarian mass. Got home yesterday but was so exhausted that I went straight to bed. Hospitals are a terrible place to be sick.

It was benign!! It turned out to be a nasty cyst that was stuck to the colon that my Gyn Onc thinks was precipitated from the endo I originally had my TAH for. It was leaking some nasty fluid and there is a place on my upper colon that looks thickened that he wanted me to to have a colonoscopy for later (although he thinks it is probably just inflamation from what was going on with the ovary). I'll get the full path report later, my Gyn Onc isn't much of a talker so I'll be interested in exactly what the path report says. They had me started on HRT literaly the a.m. after surgery. So far no change in how I feel, but I know I'm going on stored estrogen right now, plus I'm definitely not myself yet so I would't feel anything if it were different at this point.

I am very grateful for a good report and really appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

Congratulations!

Benign is the best word in the English language. I know a hospital isn't a great place--home is best.
