Hi There!

No vacuuming! I suggest either ask someone to do this for you for a while, or ....don't look!

To me, the importance of healing well far outweighs a few specks on the carpet....vacuuming tends to use ab muscles more than we realize.

You may want to ask your DR after your surgery about timeframes, although s/he might say, "Listen to your body".

Best wishes as you make this journey!

Hi Angelwings,

I agree with Criss/Toonces - try really, really hard not to look at the carpet, or ask a family member or neighbor to run the vacuum for you once a week or so until you're all recovered. Another possibility is a neighbor kid who might want to earn a little money.

Whatever you do, please don't jeopardize your healing by trying it - you may feel that you can, but the back and forth movement is not good for the stitches which have to heal.

Have you read the pre-op and post-op hints that are found on the main page of this site? Click onto the princess logo at the upper left and then scroll down toward the bottom of that page to the drop down menus. You'll find lots of helpful hints there as you prepare for your surgery.

Please keep on reading and posting any questions that you might have.

One of my doctor's biggest no-no rules for me was not running the vacuum for 6 full weeks. He was very insistant on this one. I didn't realize how much it would bother me until I actually tried it around 8 weeks. Ouch!! It was one of the things that took me the longest to be able to do without discomfort. After being a good princess all that time, I wasn't about to do anything I wasn't suppose to especially if it hurt to do it. Please just get someone else to run it for you or look the other way.
