How Did You Choose Your User Name?

Hi, I chose my name because one of my twins likes to sing the song from SnowWhite, "i'm wishing, i'm wishing for the one I love, I'm hoping, i'm hoping today" lol! He likes to sing "Twinkle twinkle little star" too but twinkle star was already taken.

I got my name from my niece. One day I was watching her and she was getting into everything... she was at that age when they are starting to repeat everything.... I was getting a bit frustrated and said "I yie yie" since that day (4 years ago) she has been calling me yieyie

Well, actually I would like to change my username as well. I had no earthly idea how wonderful this website would be to me!
But, my name means..............of course we know what March 22 means.........and that's done with. walkie talkie.
when my mom went into the hospice room she would always say if she seen someone with red on, it had to be me cause I wore it alot back then. and she also called me walkie talkie as I was keeping her spirits up by being there to talk with her. She always loved to see me come to see her and we had some very important bonding time in her last few weeks.
I miss her alot!

What a cute thread! Here's mine:

A great love of mine is genealogy. In doing some searching on my favorite genealogy website, I discovered that someone traced one side of my family all the way back to Edward III, a medieval king of England. Hence, the 'Lady' part although I'm in good company. Genealogist estimate that there are at least 3 million Americans descended from Edward III.

'Broughton' is an Old English word meaning 'town' (-ton), in 'broken land' (brough), as in land with mountains or water going through it. I've got a small creek in my backyard and I live on a small mountain in central Alabama.

Once I'm amongst the Punctured Preferred Ones, I might decide to call myself Princess de Broughton.

I came up with mine because I'm a little to busy (ltl2busy).

Between working full time, girlscouts, cubscouts, JROTC and taking care of my mother (who currently lives with me), husband and house...I'm a little too busy.

here's mine

While on a camping/fishing trip one year with DH he gave me a nickname of STUMP. I tried that but they site said it was already taken. So, I added the ed and became stumped. Which I kind of was before I found this site.

I'm VERY fair & blush easily due to an Irish temper & issues with BP. When I began to gray I started using a red rinse on my hair - it worked with all the freckles. So folks began to teasingly call me "Red"

Now the Irish in me also gets me into situations - particularly at work - where I feel the need to gird for battle. I don't take kindly to those who mess with the folks helping me get things done and/or short changing my clients.

One day while on a - national - cfc call, one of my lead developers chuckled when we were wrestling one knarly issue and said "You GO Red Sonja!" Frankly I had NO clue what he was talking about until he emailed me a cartoon of said "RS" A beautiful, buxom red head wielding a sword! Think WonderWoman with red hair.

OK, I'm as homely as oatmeal but it stuck *blush*

I am a firefighter and this name sounded kind of cool.

A few years ago, I wanted to be a firefighter so badly, I applied to my local fire dept and they refused me telling me I was a woman (now what tipped them off??). I was crushed.

I can't believe they said that! DISCRIMINATION!!! If you were able to do the job then they should not have said that. I have been discriminated at work also. I was told "You have already had your babies (I was 40 at the time). What my supervisor meant was ~ we expect you to do the work for people who are on maternity leave. I always equate her comment to meaning I as all dried up inside! I wanted to scream, "I know I could still have babies if I WANTED too!!!"
