How Did You Choose Your User Name?

When selecting my user name, I had just read a story about the sandpiper. The sandpiper is a symbol for joy. When I tried to use sandpiper, of course, it was taken, so I had to keep altering the word and add my birthdate to it, until the computer would accept it. So, my screenname stands for sandpiper (joy) and my birthdate.

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

Look at my signature and you'll see how to pronounce my username and what it means. I chose it because I used to be a professional ballet dancer and now I teach it(and have been for 12 years now). But, when I was 19 years old, I got a cat that I named Pasdechat....she helped me through a deep depression. Knowing that I had this sweet little kitty that depended on me and loved me, helped me alot

Karlene,

I'm a hick too! I was pronouncing it the exact same way, until Pasdechat posted the correct pronounciation of her user name right before her surgery. Boy, did I feel goofy!

That's a lovely name (pronounced correctly!) and a lovely story.

s,

Lisa

Count me in as a hick too. Everytime I saw "pasdechat," I wondered what the correct pronunciation was and what the significance was. I just love finding out what our screen names mean.

Hick # 3....

Hey, I grew up in southern Louisiana where everyone would say "pass de whatever..."

my name is just my name--plain Jane me-- I stumbled upon this site after my surgery, and being really computer impaired had my daughter sign me up. I was in the bed with my tummy pillow saying "can you just use my name?" She came up with this strange group of letters and dashs. I'll really be in trouble if I need to put them in somewhere, as I have lost the scrap of paper she wrote them on. And I thought my name would be easiest to remember!!!

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

I've been called "Neesy" since I was a little girl by my whole family. When my nephew was borned 18 yrs ago he couldn't say Aunt Denise for the life of him....so it was just Aunt Neesy......well to get to the point , a few years ago I went to my sister/nephews house and the same nephew (who says I am his fav aunt ) Says there is "Only 1 Neesy" so it stuck and it is easy to remember and plus it makes me think of my nephew Joey.

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

twenty two years ago i worked in a mexican restaurant. all the waitresses called each other betty. i'm not sure why, but we were *the betty's*. or one was refered to as *a* betty, even the owners used *betty*.
to this day most of us still keep in touch, and we still call each other...betty
the spelling betty was taken, so i improvised.

Users name

I'm not fond of my real first name and many people in my area use it. (Lois) So I took the first two letters of each name ( first, middle and last) and put them togerther in that order for Lolubu.
Friends and family just call me Lo or Elby. I couldn't use LLB as it has a connection with L.L. Bean Co. of Maine. Just tried to be different.
Hope everyone has a real enjoyable summer.

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

I used our family's initials. Not too creative, but I wanted to remember it.

My chat name, Compooperteacher, though is another story. I teach computers to Kindergarten through grade 5. The first day of school last year, a little boy in Kindergarten raised his hand so proudly to answer my question (pointing to a computer), "What is this?" His answer? "A compooper!" So . . . that makes me a compooperteacher.
