What's in a name?

I have seen such unique user names here on this site and have been very curious as to how you came up with it and/or why you chose it??

For me... the Margie is my first name and the LLP I added even though it has nothing to do with my initials in any way!! When I joined chat rooms LONG LONG time ago, I liked people referring to Margie, so I added the LLP. A friend of mine came up with a HUGE list of what it could mean, but actually it has no real meaning...

Thanks for sharing

I have a harmony ball chime necklace with moons and stars on it. One night it hit me--Moonchime could be a great screen name. I love it. It seems to suit me.~Moonchime

Musky was my pony and even though it's so long ago that we had to sell him, I still miss him. I added the 2u hoping it sounded friendly and self introductory but seeing it on screen it looks kind of harsh if read wrong .....

So musk will do .........hmmm... maybe I should change it???

My usual user name was already taken, It is "Sybil". So, over the years it came around to a shortened version "Sybie". My friends would joke when I was using "Sybil" to watch out. They took it to mean I was in a bad mood! When I was "Sybie" I was in a good mood. Of course neither of those theories apply to my own thinking.
"Sybie" is just what I use when I can't use "Sybil".

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

My Mom and I shared a love of all things that were in nature, and when we were at the family cottage, she would always look for the Northern Lights. She would take my kids out on the dock, and we would look at the stars in the night sky. Sometimes we can see the Northern Lights , and it makes me feel close to her (she and my Dad passed away 5 years ago). That's why I chose the name Aurora. I was actually surprised that it wasn't taken, and that I got this name on the first try.

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

My user name, Shashi, is a nickname that I grew up with. I started off being "Sissy", since I was the only girl in my family (I have one brother.) Well, when I was a teenager, my parents started keeping foster children. One of them was an 18-month-old baby named Stoney. Stoney couldn't say "Sissy", it always came out "Shashi", so the rest of the family soon started calling me "Shashi" too.

I helped my mom take care of little Stoney, and we grew to love him. He was with us for about a year, and became part of our family. We even inquired into adopting him. However, his caseworker (who was an alcoholic) got angry at my mom one day because we were going on vacation and Mom had asked about getting someone to look after the foster kids for the week we would be gone, and she took Stoney away from us permanently. We never saw the little guy again.

I recently discovered that Shashi also means "moonlight" in Hindi. I have a tag on the front of my car with a scene of the mountains and moonlight and the name "Shashi" on it. And I use this name for every username I have on the computer. Everytime I see or hear the name Shashi, I remember my precious little brother.

Chicadee -
I am a Girl Scout leader and on our very first camping trip 6 years ago we had to come up with camp names. I chose Chicadee because I love to watch birds in our backyard feeder and the chicadee is one of my favorites. When I needed a screen name it just naturally came to mind.
26 was my dh's football jersey number in High School.
