How Did You Choose Your User Name?

What a fun thread! I chose my username from my group of friends. There are four of us, who are very close. We meet EVERY Monday night at Barnes and Noble for coffee, occasional Bible study, and girl talk. We have been doing this now for about two years. We have travelled together some too! Like Thelma and Louise! LOL! What do we call ourselves as a "group"? Sisters in Spirit!

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

for a start, I don't do mornings very well. I used to work at a hospital and I had to be there bright and early. It became clear to the staff that I wasn't a morning person. Anyway, one of my jobs involved me being around the EMTs alot and they started teasing me about my not being a morning person. I wasn't moody or anything, just kinda slow so to speak. Nest thing I know, the EMTs start calling me lightning. My mother just loves it and it has stuck.

So, there you have it.

My garden is where I go to restore my soul and to figure things out. I can completely relax in my garden and find solace and strength there. I think that all gardens are a delight! Hence my name.....

Because........................

.................she is unappreciated, taken for granted, laughed at when she's doing her utmost to be a good mother/wife/sister/daughter but it doesn't stop her. She has a son and daughter whom she tries hard to understand and relate to, who love her but are exasperated by her in turn.

As for her husband......don't even go there..............................

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

Several names I chose were taken, so I came up with this one because I'm a sun and fun kind of girl. I love the beach and water. I love to be outside playing.

PATRICE MONSELL

My Mom wanted me to be a singer like PATRICE MUNSEL, but her favorite teacher's name was VONZELL SO she put the two together and named me PATRICE VONZELLE, but I like to be different so, I used my middle name.

MAKE SENSE?

Meaning behind user names

well, if anyone is game, I'd be interested to know how everyone came up with their user names. For instance, I got mine from my two cats. Moonlight actually past away last December, so the "Moon" part of my name was to honor him (he was a most excellent cat. His death was not anticipated). Mab is the younger female I have that I had brought home to be his companion, so I used her name for the second part of my user name. She and I both also have the same first two letters in our names, so it seemed kind of fitting to use her name as part of my on line name. Besides, it was really late when I had to come up with something, so I just went with MoonMab.

Anyone else want to share?

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

Oh Marta,

I am sitting here laughing. Flitty (my username) is the name of my female abyssinian that I got to keep Basil my male russian blue company. I lost my precious Basil in November last year, also unexpectedly, and I use his name as my username on other sites but I figured a more feminine name was more suited on this site hence Flitty.

I adore my cats and I use both of their names as passwords and usernames on different things. My DH thinks I am a bit strange but I am glad to see there are other NORMAL people out there like me. Us cat lovers are the normal people on this earth. A house is not a home without a cat or 13 like I had when I first met my DH.

thanks for the giggle Marta

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

I do so agree with you ladies about your animals. The saddest day of my life was when I became severely allergic to my cats and we had to find new homes for all four of them. It took us so long to get used to not having them around....there was a real void in our life for such a long time. Still is, if I'm honest! I'm truly envious of you both. Sasha, you're so right when you say that 'cat people are the normal people on this earth'.

Anyway, on a lighter note. My username is nowhere near as interesting as yours. I know when I was trying to think of one, I wanted something that would identify me with my country, New Zealand. I guess I was feeling patriotic at the time. The silverfern is a lovely fern that grows in our native bush and is also our national emblem. It just seemed the right name for me at the time. I've found that fellow New Zealander sisters have identified with me very quickly! I like that!
