How Did You Choose Your User Name?

Dylli was my favorite dog ever. Lost him two months after my hyst. I think of being "A Dylli"' as being "a doozy." That's pretty much the way he was, and the way I am as well.

Our six-month-old aussie pup is stealing my heart. He's as different from Dylan as night and day, but that's probably made it easier to fall in love with him! (and less likely to draw comparisons)

Mine is kind of boring as well. When my Sister and I were both stay at home Moms we used to chat on yahoo messenger, still do actually. I couldn't come up with anything interesting and my sister came up with klassicblonde. She's a brunette and always teases me about being a 'classic blonde' ditzy and all..... I've used it ever since.....

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

Okay, this is kind of a long story, but you did ask...

My user name, Shashi, is a nickname that I grew up with. I started off being "Sissy", since I was the only girl in my family (I have one brother.) Well, when I was a teenager, my parents started keeping foster children. One of them was an 18-month-old baby named Stoney. Stoney couldn't say "Sissy", it always came out "Shashi", so the rest of the family soon started calling me "Shashi" too.

I helped my mom take care of little Stoney, and we grew to love him. He was with us for about a year, and became part of our family. We even inquired into adopting him. However, his caseworker (who was an alcoholic) got angry at my mom one day because we had to travel to Tennessee from Florida when my grandfather had a stroke, and Mom had asked about getting someone to look after the foster kids while we were gone. That old witch took Stoney away from us permanently. We never saw the little guy again.

I recently discovered that Shashi also means "moonlight" in Hindi. I have a tag on the front of my car with a scene of the mountains and moonlight and the name "Shashi" on it. And I use this name for every username I have on the computer. Everytime I see or hear the name Shashi, I remember my precious little brother (who would be almost 30 years old now!)

Ditto for me, mine is pretty boring also. A good friend who likes to make blond jokes always takes any opport to tell on me about "having a blond moment". since then , she is smrtbrn(smart brown)grl and I am blondgrl...... Silly, but for some reason we find it amusing....

Not much creativity with mine either. My name is Beth and the "sista" part came from a typo with my real-life sister several years ago. Ever since that typo we refer to eachother as "sista"
I'm sista B and she's Sista T. Seemed only natural to use it here too.
