How Did You Choose Your User Name?

My name is Margot (silent "t"). When I was very young we had a neighbor from El Salvador who called me Marguita (little Margot). My mother shortened that to Margie (the "g" pronounced as in "go," not as in "gee whiz!"). Is this making *any* sense?!

Anyway, early in my relationship with my DH, I called him on the phone and said "Hi, it's Margot." I guess I said it pretty quickly, because to him it sounded like "Hi Smargo." He started calling me Smargo and I didn't really like it. When he changed it to Smargie, it felt much better for some reason. He's the only one who calls me that, so it always tickles me when I see "Thanks for signing in smargie!" He only calls me Margot when he's mad at me .

Since we all talk about pretty personal things on this website, I thought I'd use my really personal nickname.

Mine's nothing mind blowing either!!

The silverfern is the national emblem of New Zealand, and when I registered I wanted to somehow identify with my country. There weren't many New Zealanders on the site and I guess I felt I needed to carry the flag a bit!! I've had quite a few Sisters tell me that they knew immediately where I came from because of my username....I like that!

I guess lake lover would sound like I spend lots of time on the lake. Well in a way I supose one could say I have. I don't llive on a lake, nor do I have a boat. My name derived from the hospital I was at, surgery on 03-16-05, and return for vag bleeding on 03-28-05. The hospital is located between two lakes, Nolin and Rough River. Walah! Twin Lakes, so, Lake Lover, it seems I've been spending alot of time at the lakes, take it from there. Creative?

I picked the name Aurora, because it reminds me of my Mom.

She used to look for the Northern Lights at night with my kids. My Mom and Dad had a family cottage up north, and they would look up at the night sky from the end of the dock to see if they could see them.
It's a lovely memory I have of them, so that's why I chose the name Aurora.

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

WElllll, my first impulse was to go by Kathy, but as we all know that name was probably the first taken...hehe So from there I tried all my nicknames....Kitty, Kat, saharasmom (my kitty cat) and finally at my wits end, since my DH calls me Kat, and somehow most of my friends do now also, and he owns a Harley, I became Harley Kat. Pretty darned boring also I might add, but funny enough, many of the 'biker chicks' on here have connected with me.

I love some of you names. Mine is c for my first initial, safrica because I am from South Africa (but live in the US now) and 19 is part of my address. Nothing too exciting, I just wanted something I could remember, and said something about me!!
