How Did You Choose Your User Name?

This is a really neat thread. I liked reading all the stories behind user names.

And here's the story of Viking Princess: my very dear friend Susan (we've known each other for years) has seen me go through things that would have had others buckle under or give up. She always told me how strong a person I was, but I didn't believe her. I'd just tell her I did what I had to. It then became a running joke between us. Well, last year for my birthday, she gave me a medallion that has this viking princess in full warrior regalia (humongous pitchfork, shield, helmet, etc) on the front with the words "Goddess of Strength" and a saying on the back about having strength and resources you need inside you. We laughed about it and I put it away in my desk drawer and forgot about it. When I was moving things around in my house to prepare for after surgery, I had to bring my computer upstairs (it's usually in my basement office) and while I was going through my drawers to get stuff I thought I'd need, I found it still in the original plastic (I never really opened it). So I brought it up and put it on the coffee table with some other things I'd need because it made me laugh anytime I looked at it.

Well, the time came for me to start radiation. I'd been so drugged up suring my first 1 1/2 months home that I was able to "bury" the fact that I indeed had cancer. When I started daily radiation, I finally had to face it and had a really difficult time. I saw a cancer counselor and we got to talking about visualization techniques but none of her suggestions really worked. That night I happened to see the medallion (which by then had been covered over by cards and letters) peeking out at me. So I picked it up, opened the plastic and took it out and really looked at it. I noticed that the outer edging looked a little banged up like it had been used/worn and then it clicked. I saw her inside me with her giant pitchfork stabbing and killing any cancer cells and then burning them up (my hot flashes). When I signed up for the Hyster Sisters, I was sitting there trying to think of a user name and started having a really bad hot flash. I thought, my viking princess is having one heck of a bonfire and that's how I came to be Viking Princess.

Love this idea! NikkiLouWho was actually a nickname given to me by a friend:
a)when she found out my first and middle name *yes, my name really is Nicole Lucille. Mom was on a French kick in the late 60s*
b) when she saw a childhood picture of me looking suspiciously like CindyLouWho from the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, crazy blonde pigtails and everything.

Mine is inspired by my "puppy" (well, she's 1 year old now) Tessie.
I have two kids... and Tess makes 3!!!
especially appropriate since she definitely WILL be my last child since having surgery! hehe

I LOVE MY TESSIE GIRL!

I go by "barefootbug" for everything else...
barefoot cuz I always am (dad used to always kid me that he was gonna buy me shoes cuz I obviously did not have any!)
and bug cuz that's my brothers nickname for me...

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

I love this thread! Some of the names are so creative. Mine is from one of my favorite verses from the Bible: Phillipians 4 verses 4 through 6: Do not be anxious about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. This verse brings me peace during times like this.
