The other day I was feeling jittery. Today I am feeling awful. My stomach hurts, my right side (where cyst is) hurts, I keep going to the bathroom (and when I get up, then I have to pee - what's up with that??), I'm flushed and feeling hot. I haven't taken my temp, because I think nerves are kicking in, but I'm not sure. I'm scheduled at the castle on 8-8. Any ideas???

I am scheduled to enter the castle 8-6. I understand what you're going through. I also have been anxious and I've been waking up in the middle of the night once or twice to go to the bathroom. During the day I go much more frequently than usual. I also have wondered if it's just nerves. Good luck on the 8th.

It could very well be nerves. I had my TAH/RSO two weeks ago, and the week prior, I was a nervous wreck. My heart would race, and sometimes I even felt a little light-headed. But strangely as the surgery got closer, I got calmer. Oh one more thing, I had never had any painful symptoms associated with my fibroids, but 2 nights before my surgery, I got the most painful cramps, almost like someone was stabbing me. Guess that was my body assuring me that I was doing the right

The things that helped me in the last week were going to funny movies, going to the gym, and cleaning up the house for my impending imprisonment by the pillow police. Everyone told me that waiting is the worst part of this whole experience and they were certainly right.

Its not long now, keep yourself busy, and if the anxiety gets to be too much, please let your doctor know.

I've got the nerves too.

My date is 8-12 and the closer it gets the more my stomach starts to roll. I don't like all this time to think about it. I just wish it was over.

Pre-Op Nerves

I worked out my pre-op nerves by cleaning the house to the point where I got up extra early that a.m. to wash the "last" load and even put the trash out two days early. At work--I had my shelves (I worked by the shelf, not the tray) cleaned out. We all do different things on those nerves--the wait IS worse than the surgery in many ways. I do suggest taking your temperature, however, just to be sure it is only nerves and not something else. If you find you have a temp, hit the Urgent Care place and explain your situation or call your doctor's office and see who's on call and explain to that doctor. Better a false alarm than anything real going on. Best wishes for a successful surgery and a textbook good recovery.

I can totally relate to what your saying. I go to the castle on August 8th and I can be driving in the car and I feel so nervous and emotional. Just hang in there and take it one step at a time. I just keep trying to think how wonderful it will be to finally have it over with. I think the anticipation is the worst.

Dear sisters,
Words can't express how excited I am to see others are going through the same things I am. I thought I was losing it. My DH does not seem to understand. His mom was wonder woman and went back to work after a week from a TVH. I think she was a nut. My date with the castle is 8-8. My emotions are on a rollacoster. I sure would love to set fire crackers off the night before with just the little amount of hope to be pain free soon. Can anyone tell me what the deal is with the bowel prep. The only instruction I have is eat light the day before. Good luck and I wish you well.

Penn, some Docs request a bowel prep to clean you out before surgery. The less in there the better access to move around and push things out of the way. I would think you'd know by now if you needed it. If you don't, consider yourself LUCKY!!!!!!!!

Yep Nervous Bladder

....and bowel! I'm headed to the castle in about 40 hours. The stomach is going flip flop, and my head is pounding.

Every injury I ever had is yakking at me. The ankle I badly sprained 15 years ago is twinging, my weak knee is quivering.

Geez, I'm a mess!
