Pain Management here I come...

Hello Dear Sisters...sorry for my absence lately, but I was up at my Mum's cottage hanging out with the family. I've been reading up on all of you. Sorry I haven't posted, but the CTS and everything else, is causing me great pain these days...so I thought I'd attempt one big post.

First I want you all to know that you all remain in my heart and prayers...one day...we'll all get off this road.

I just received a phone call from the pelvic pain clinic that I've been trying to get into for over a year now! My first appointment is on Sept/4th!!! I'm going to try to not get my hopes up too high...but I am feeling quite excited about this.

I know many of you have given me excellent suggestions regarding what to do about this whole pain clinic thing. I did look into to several of your suggestions...but deep down in my heart I felt this was the clinic for me. You see they deal mainly in chronic pelvic pain, and they seem quite interested in my case!!!! I have done a lot of research into this clinic and they have many things to offer me...so I hope!

So there's the news sisters....I was supposed to get into this clinic a year ago, but they mysteriously lost all record of me. It took me a while to get the courage and the strength to do battle with getting all of the records and everything together yet again....but it has paid off!

Oh Jude, I'm so glad that you have something to work towards.....what sort of management do they offer? Nerve blocks, injections that sort of thing?? At the very least someone will be working with you, and as my not so great gyn once said, it helps them to assess the situation better and tell them where the pain is coming from, in my case it was very valuable for telling us that my pain was not superficial but deep and caused by scar tissue....so hopefully this will give you a clearer picture of what's going on too!

Sending big encouraging 's your way sister, you are always in my thoughts and prayers!!

Thank-you sisters....

Here is the link to their home page:http://www.mtsinai.on.ca/wasser/Default.htm

From what I've found out they offer all sorts of stuff....pain management with meds, as well as acupuncture....alternative medicine...diagnostic....everything! I just have this gut feeling that these folks will be able to help me get my life back...and find out what/if anything else is going on. What I like about this place is that everything is there. I won't have to get shuffled off from office to office. We all know what that is like

Thanks for all of your support sisters...it means the world to me. I'm only home for a few days...then heading back up north. It was like fall up there! I hope it warms up a bit

((((Jude))))) I'm so sorry you're not feeling well I know the crazy weather we've been having can't be helping any.

That hospital's pain clinic sounds wonderful. I can feel your exitement at finally getting an appointment.

We're there for you and I for one sure hope they'll be the ones to, finally, find a way of managing the pain for you.
