Any 6-week-post-op princesses out there??

I had my 6 week check up today. Everything was fine. My MD release me for anything I feel like. I've been working a few hours a day at DH office since my 3 week check up. Today I went shopping at Target to buy a new purse. For the last several years I always bought a purse that had a separate compartment for pads. Today I was able to pick the purse I wanted not the one my uterus needed. I went to the grocery store and when I passed a lady getting pads I wanted to jump up and down and shout for joy that it wasn't me. Yesterday I made an appointment for my husband and I to go to a training class later this month. I didn't have to check my "schedule" to see if it would be a bad time for me. I have a wonderful life with my DH, DS and DD, and now at last I have a wonderful healthy body to go with my life.

Any 6-week-post-op princesses out there??

I'm 6 weeks post-op. I "just" had an LAVH so my recovery time has been easier than you all with TAHs. I returned to work (4 hrs/day) 2 weeks post op. I was somewhat tired until about 2 weeks ago. Now I'm doing great except that, since I feel so good, I occasionally overdo it and get the dreaded swelly belly.

I'm 6 weeks! I can't believe that much time has gone by!!! I feel so much better than I did pre-op, but today I over did it and I look about 7 months pregnant! I'm hurting a little too, so I thought I'd sit down and check in with you all I am finally starting to lose weight because I can now exercise. I gave up on exercising before my surgery because it hurt too much, now I feel great and have tons of energy. I do not regret my choice

6 weeks post-op & almost a new me

So glad to hear so many other 6-week post-op Princesses are doing so well!

I'm 6 weeks post-op today and feeling great (compared with my pre-op self). I had a supracervical abdominal hyst with BSO. Definitely the best thing I've ever done for myself. I had been in almost constant pain for the past two years from an enlarged uterus and big fibroids, plus adeno.

My only surprises have been I still get extremely tired about 3 to 4 hours into the day and I've had some killer-diller low back pain in the past week that's even gone up to my shoulder blades. I had problems with my back pre-op, but my periods were so painful that I had to just ignore my back. I've been walking almost every day, but now I want to get my back taken care so I can do other types of exercise as well. Next week I'm going to a specialist about my back. I'll return to my difficult commute and to work at 7 weeks.

Like my fellow Punctured Princesses, I'm so happy to be a rincess: ... finally! I can't say thank you enough to all the Dear Hearts on this Web site, who have taught me so much.

Any 6-week-post-op princesses out there??

It is good to hear you are doing well. I had my 6 weeks post-op Wednesday. My Dr was very pleased. She finally got the pathology results and she said my decision to have a hyst was a wise one. I am glad she refused to allow me to back out like I wanted to. I feel better than I have in years. Monday I go back to work. I am looking forward to a new school year. Thanks for the support and s as you continue your healing journeys.

Any 6-week-post-op princesses out there??

Hi there

I was 6 wks this past Wed. I have never felt better. I went back to work at 4 1/2 wks, I work 12 hr shifts so I have a huge swelly belly by the time I get home in the mornings, but then I have 4 days off to rest.....

I couldnt believe how much pain relief the hyster gave me.... before the hyster I was having to constantly take Alleve almost on a daily basis (good thing my liver is healthy) and in 6 wks I have only had to take it twice.......... absolutely amazing.

I am actually able to enjoy the finer things in life ie: my family time without having to go lay down from the pain.....

And just think ladies, it only gets better!!!!! wooohoooooo

s to all

Any 6-week-post-op princesses out there??

Hi 6 week princessess!!

Just had my 6 week check up on Wednesday and I am feeling AWESOME! I'm walking much more, about 30 min a day around our neighbourhood. I still tire easily, so I do listen to my body and rest. I don't go back to work til September so I'm really taking the time to heal. It's soooo nice not to have periods anymore!! It's the best decision I ever made!
