Trip to ER at 5:30--BAD UTI

and I mean bad as in when I saw blood I decided not to wait for Urgent Care to open (even though I've been told by my primary doctor to use him during week or ER and not Urgent Care) and drove down to the ER. So, here we go...Cipro and something to stop the burning/spasms...they conferred with on-call oncologist (not mine, but one with an excellent reputation) and I have to go to one or the other this week... I'm telling myself that it's OK, but I'm thinking 1) the shadow on an xray in July was more than a shadow and is at best a small stone or 2) I've got spread now into the bladder area and carboplatin isn't working. So--tons of prayers please and add in there a couple for relief! Oh well...

Prayers to the ovarian angels (and the bladder angels?) for you. Hope the Rx is doing it for the spasms. They can really hurt.

Seriously, I am praying that it isn't spread - just a garden variety UTI.

Let us know.

Oh ((((((Margaret))))))))
I am so sorry to hear this. I am sure this is very painful, and I as well hope the perscription is bringing you some relief.
Take it easy and rest as much as you can. I have never had stones, but I hear they can be very painful, and I am praying that this is what this. I truly hope the carbo is working and that this is not related.
Take care and sending huge hugs and lots of love to you!!

Ellen--

I echo that I hope this is just a regular old UTI and nothing more serious -- I'm sure that you are worried, however. Hopefully, the meds that they gave you will do the trick. Keep on hanging on -- just remember that we're tough old Badgers and we're not going to let this stuff get us down!!

Much love,

Cyndy

I'm so sorry that you are having this problem on top of everything else thats going on, but I'm praying that its just an old UTI or we'll even settle for a stone,(even though I know they can be very painful!) Prayers are being said Ellen, so hang on, and get as much rest as you can, ok? Drink alot of cranbery juice too...

We love ya sister and please know that you're in my thoughts and prayers, today and always!

s Ellen

I am so sorry to read of your UTI. Here's hoping you are feeling some relief by this evening.
How were the carbo side effects for you this past week? Manageable? Are you on an every three week schedule with the carbo?
Great news about the SSDI. One less thing to worry about.
I just loved Susan's hippo with the tutu. That hippo should be our visualization mascot!!!

I'm fairly new here as a poster, but have been a "lurker" since May, before my hysterectomy. I've been following your posts and your life changes, Ellen, and I felt your fear and frustration when I read your post. Please know that I am so sorry you are feeling ill and hope that the meds will help that bladder heal quickly. Here's even more hope that it's nothing worse! Many prayers are going out for you from my heart, here in Texas! Bless you, dear lady!
