Prolapsed Uterus...

Hi MrsIrvin

I had my hyst for a severely prolapsed uterus this past February. I also had A&P repairs and a bladder suspension (everything else had fallen too) for a cystocele and rectocele. There are many of us here who had our surgery for prolapse. I'm glad you found us!

If you do a search on prolapse, you will find many, many posts from ladies telling of their experiences. In my case I had a kind of rough time due to complications, some of which weren't related to the surgery... but I feel 100% better now and am very glad I had the surgery done.

As for the pain, have you considered getting a second opinion? Not necessarily about the prolapse, but to ask what else may be going on to cause the pain? I had some lower back pain from the prolapse but it wasn't anything severe. It can't hurt to consult another DR to be sure there's nothing else wrong.

Good luck, and I'm looking forward to seeing you in Post Op!

s,
-Linda

My Prlapsed Uterus

Hi. I had a tubal done in Feb. of 2000 and at that time the Dr. said he found 'blebs' which may indicate endometriosis. He is still concerned about that. I am hoping when he goes in there, he doesnt find something horrible, and have to take out my ovaries. I have all of the typical symptoms of prolapsed uterus, such as painful intercourse, difficulty holding in tampons, heaviness, and i also have barely any bladder control, (urgency)..i leak if i dont hurry. I had a very difficult forcep delivery (Jan 2000), and from what I have read, this may have been why I have all of this. My uterus was backwards to begin with! I go back tomorrow, so he is going to check me again. I am ready to get it over with!

Prolapsed Uterus...

I believe after your hysterectomy you will feel 100% better ( after the recovery period ). If at the end of that time, you still have pelvic pain then you can chase that problem. It would be very difficult at this time to find any other cause.

With endo and a prolapse... for sure you are suffering. Best of luck to you and I wish you good health in the near future.
