Hi Ladies...
Well, I had urodynamic testing done yesterday. I was only able to hold in 300 cc of fluid before telling the doc to pull the plug I couldn't take it any longer! I didn't have any leakage but with only 300 cc's in there, it was not conclusive.
So, now we're trying a course of Detrol (I had no response with Ditropan XL) and I'll see her again in 1 month and she may repeat the testing.
Between now and then, I'm to start doing "bladder training"...see how the Detrol works and we'll go from there. She did not think surgery would correct this problem (at least for now) - and I don't want it anyway.
In the past 3 months, I've lost almost 10#, began a course of exercise that includes 3-4 hours of cardio and strength training and started a Yoga class. And, in the past 3 months I've not had any incontinence issues either!! Oh, and I only drink coffee occasionally.
So, bottom line is I think the extra weight wasn't helping my bladder any. I believe I've had the bladder spasms for a very long time and even the doctor agreed I've got a "twitchy" bladder and probably always have. With the amount of water I'm drinking - appx 150 oz a day - the bladder training ought to be a fun and thrilling experience!
As for the problems I was having with the Estratest....she gave me some samples for Menest and we'll see how it goes. She did tell me if I needed a little "rev" (which I don't..) to try taking DHEA. I've taken it before, when I was body building and didn't really care for the extra bulk I had with it....the testosterone in the Estratest gave me all these little bumps on my arms and increased break out of acne on my face....GEEEEEZ, I told her, I already been through puberty once and didn't want to repeat it!!!
Just thought I'd update and if anyone has done the bladder training....any tips or hints for success???? My attitude is positive so thats a definite start.
Thanks ladies....
Love to you all!
