Vaginal burning and dryness

Dear Friends, I had a hysterectomy in February and was diagnosed with endometrial cancer...Have had a great deal of vaginal burning an dryness...Any suggestions of what to use??? Am not taking hormones due to the endometrial cancer(dr.'s recommendation), but am at wits end at some of the symptoms I am having...Any suggestions....Fran P.S. Burning is severe at times...

I'm sure one of the hostesses will be by to "meet and greet" you, but in the meantime, I can answer your question. Astroglide, just Astroglide. Love the stuff. I had a hyster last week for endometrial cancer, but went through menopause six years ago. So I've been using Astroglide for a while. It'll help with the dryness. I haven't had any burning sensation, so don't know if Astroglide works for that.

Welcome to CC. I had my radical hyster in May of 2001 and certainly know all about vaginal dryness. Could your burning possibly be caused by any moisturizer you are currently trying? If not, I say check with your doc about the burning. Replens is another vaginal moisturizer that is highly recommended. The good thing about Replens is that you insert it and it is suppose to hang around for a few days. Not like that cold KY jelly. Brrr....

I ALSO HAD DRYNESS AND BURNING.
I CALLED MY ONOC/GYNE HE SAID IT WOULD BE FINR TO USE ANY OVER THE COUNTER PRODUCT THAT CALMS THE ITCHING AND BURNUNG.
I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU ASK YOUR DR. ABOUT THAT FIRST ANYWAY.

Frances, I know what you are going through. I thought I was having UTI's, but come to find out it was from the dryness. I am now using Vagifem. The internal dryness is much better. On the outside, I still have some burning sensations ocassionally. Not as much as before. Ask your Dr. about it.

Dear Friends, Was looking for something for vaginal dryness and burning that does not have Estogen in it.....I know Vagifem does...
Have tried Replensand a vaginal mosturizer, am trying to stay from estrogens if possible...
Also as far as fatigue--what are you ladies doing??? Always seem to be tired out....Suggestions???/Thanks....Fran

I wish I had some ideas for you, but I still have my ovaries, so I am not experiencing any problems at this time.

Have you tried visiting The No-Hormone Desert Oasis? Some of the ladies there might have some good ideas for you.

Hi Frances! Sorry to hear you are having a pesky problem. I went through that after my leep procedure- ouch! You might have a yeast infection and that is why you have burning? Well, you probably have it under control by now. Just wanted to say "hello" and take care.

As far as being fatigued, I just turned thirty and I had my hyst when I was 29. (nine months now). I just finished radiation last month or so. I am FINALLY feeling like there is an light at the end of the tunnel. I am getting my energy back. Honestly, I have never been so "worn" out in my life! I think it takes a full year to recover from all the moving around of body parts. At least it did for me. sss! You'll be in' around before you know it. It just takes a lot of patience. Hang in there!!!
