Update on leaking urine

Okay,
so I thought I was frustrated before. I went to the dr. and was seen by a nurse practitioner. She examines me, sees something and tells me it's not urine. It's discharge !?!? I said, but it's soaking my pad, my undies or other various items of clothing. How can it be a discharge. She proceeds to ask me if I have smelled it!?!? Yes, I have and I believe it smells like urine to me. Well, apparently not to her. She says it has to do with my sutures and the tissue involved. Come back next thursday and let my doctor take a look at it.

Okay ladies, here's my question. Have any of you heard/experienced anything like this? She did determine it was coming from my vagina, not my urethra. She did not give me any answers as to how long it should last, what to do to fix it, etc. Maybe this is the answer, but I still don't feel like any of my questions have been answered. I am just as confused now as before my appt.

Any advice at all would be helpful. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance.

Love,

Update on leaking urine

Hi Barbara,
I should have mentioned, my dr. has been on vacation, last week and this week. Can't fit me in until thursday of next week. This is so frustrating. I don't think this sounds right, but I am just the patient (I think that's what they think of me now) Thanks for answering so quickly.

Love,

oh ok i'm sorry well still mine will not let any one but him treat his sugicals at all. He will leave another doctor in charge of them which i like. sweetie i'm sending you extra hugs because i know you need them along with prayers i wish i had the answers for you. but i would take that appointment and if he can't help you and you still have problems find another one. good luck sweetie warm and gentle hugs to you.

Update on leaking urine

My guess is that the NP has no idea what it is or else she would have been able to offer remedies! I have never heard of someone having discharge over a long period of time that is heavey enough to soak pads. They will probably have to do some tests to really determine if it is urine or not coming from your vagina. Good luck to you and just take one day at a time and try not to worry to much. (((HUGS)))

leaking urine

Hi,

I am new to the message boards but had to respond to your post. I have the exact same problem and I am really sad to tell you this but in all likely hood you have a fistula that is the only reason you would have urine in your vagina. The person you saw does not know what she is talking about. You need to see your doctor as soon as possible. There is a possible way to fix it early if you haven't healed all the way. But they have to do it very soon. My doctor ingored me and now I need surgery again.. Push your doctor see another doctor if yours not in but see someone right away.
