When will it arrive?

... the dreaded swelly-belly? I'm 10 days post-op and wondering when it will appear?

Has anyone out there been able to avoid the swelling or at least keep it to a minimum? Any advice?

Maybe you're just lucky and will avoid swelly belly entirely??

Mine was swollen "right off the bat" and I think that's probably typical. I have read a few posts on this website from ladies that never puffed up.

As Sandy said, maybe you will be one of the lucky ones who report not having !

Keeping it to a minimum I think depends on you being a good At 10 days post-op, you are still very early in your recovery. Follow the Princess rules of lots of and limited exercise in the form of frequent walks as tolerated. Follow all post-op restrictions and instructions. And hopefully you will continue with a nice, uncomplicated recovery!

I have managed to keep it to a minimum. I did not have any swelling initially. I even went out at about 2 wks and bought a denim skirt. About a week later it was too tight. Still fit, but tight. That is pretty much were it has stayed. Some swelling, but not much.

I am one of the lucky ones!! But I don't know that I did anything that made it that way. I was just lucky! I also had a very easy recovery.

I also was one of the lucky one who have had minimal swelly belly. I was a very good (boring) princess -- followed the rules to a "T".

Now I'll occasionally get a little swollen when I am too active, but it's not too bad.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

i had the swelled belly before surgery! i is going down each week now. i am 5 weeks out today and i had to go but one size down pants---but i was so sick and in so much pain before my surgery that---i am just glad to be alive. janice72

i am going to try to rewrite what i just wrote due to sounding like a nut----i just took pain meds for my leg--(that is another story). i do not have a swollen belly post surgery. i had a swollen belly pre-surgery. my paint size is smaller post-surgery. i waited for my belly to swell and at 5 weeks i went out and bought smaller pants. i have been taking anti-imflammatories for one month (anaprox).

Well I am almost five weeks post op and still have not experienced " swelly belly" hopefully you will be as lucky as me. I don't think everyone experiences it.
