I need to hear a good story!!

Hi to all sisters,
I am having a REALLY bad day and need to hear some success stories. I am 29yrs. old and am almost 5-weeks post op.
I had a CAH due to endometrial cancer and I am having so much "what if anxiety." My cancer was contained to the uterus and was a stage 1 ( no treatment necessary! ) I would love to hear some of your experiences and how long you've been cancer free!! I know I shouldn't ponder on the what if's but it's so hard not knowing! Please share with me!!
Thanks, Paula!

I need to hear a good story!!

Hi Paula, I don't have an answer for you as I am still waiting to have my surgery but I can totally relate to the "what if's". I can't help worry if my dr will get all the cancer out, will it reoccur etc.... I imagine that is normal to have those thoughts. I am constantly having to remind myself that it's ok to have worries or concerns but not to let them totally engross me and all my thoughts. I try very hard to think positive. (sometimes easier said than done )

I know some of the other ladies will be along shortly with much better answers than mine. Just keep your chin up and try and stay positive.

(((hugs)))) and positive vibes coming your way!

God bless

Not worried

Paula,
I only had surgery 3 weeks agos, but the path report said the uterine cancer did not spread - it was contained in the endometrium. (stage 1, grade 2). Based on the research I've read, the cure rate at this stage is 95 to 99%. Beats driving on the roads around Washington DC.

I come from a long line of cancer survivors and I do mean survivors - decades after initial treatment. We don't feel unlucky because we have cancer (that's a given), we feel lucky because it's found early. It sounds like your's was early and I'm sure you'll continue to feel less threatened as you pass 3 months then 6 month checkups with flying colors.
s,
Laura

17 months cancer free

I had my LAVH (CERVICAL CANCER STAGE1) March 27,2001. I am doing really good. I live everyday with the (cancer head) as its called but it does fade out. My story is posted if interested. I had to travel a rought road but I did it. Live does go on you just have to keep you head up. Stay strong and please feel free to e-mail me if you need a shoulder to lean on. we can cry together.

I have been going to the 3 month check-ups faithfully for 16 months and I got the good news I did not have to go back for one year . What a blessing.

I need to hear a good story!!

Hi Paula
I will tell you some good news...MY ca125 number is down to 14, my son is getting married on Sunday and my last chemo treatment is next Thursday. On April 18th of this year i had a total hysterectomy and was found to have stage 3 ovarian cancer. MY doctor felt that it was basically self contained and that he got it all... I did the chemo, at his request to make sure that any minute particles floating around would be gone. Hopefully it will be gone FOREVER!!
Keep thinking happy thoughts!

bad day

You couldn't ask for better than Stage 1-well, none at all, I guess.
My mother was Stage 1 40 years ago, and is doing better than me health-wise! She had a hysterectomy and nothing else in the way of treatment. Count your blessings and be glad it was caught in time.
