Hi mrschas,

So sorry to read that you ended up in the ER. Keeping my fingers crossed that the antibiotics kick in soon and you feel better.

2 day bowel prep

DRINK WATER AND SUGAR FREE CRANBERRY JUICE! I too have had kidney troubles since my surgery.

I am on my third round of antibiotics. I have had pyelo three times now in 7 weeks and am going to see a specialist on the 9th. I am also having chronic dehydration. It all started with a 2 day bowel prep that was horrible. I am sure that the dehydration started then, as did the kidney trouble. My biggest problem is not being able to keep my blood sugar up and that is making me sick to my stomach. I am scared to death that they are going to tell me that I am diabetic as I have lost 23 pounds since last august.

~~~Mrschas~~~
Are you the one I met in chat last night? Anyway, I am so glad you went and got help. Infections traveling up into the kidneys can be dangerous and hard to clear up when they go on too long.
But you were seen and now have what you need to help you recover.
I hope the antibioitics kick in real quick, and you are over this soon. Best of luck - let us know how you are doing.
P.S. The cranberry juice that artteacher recommends is a good idea, along with plenty of water to keep those kidney's flushed.
