Going away party!

Well, here I am 2 days pre-op and getting more nervous by the day. My DH is a firefighter and has to work 24 hours the day before my castle visit, which means me having the house all to myself the day before surg... too nerve wracking for me. So, what to do??? I planned a going away party for my uterus and ovaries!! I have invited a bunch of friends over for movies (Fried Green Tomatoes and Steel Magnolias, good chick flicks), junk food, wine and a general good time . Had a friend who attended a similar party where everybody wore black and was in mourning, mine though is a celebration and we will have a rousing good time. I will stay busy all day fixing snack foods , then the party in the evening, should help me be able to sleep. Then at 6:30 am it''s off to the castle.
Thanks for this wonderful site, can't imagine what a mess I'd be without all the support I've found here!

Smart Girl! Sounds great! Maybe you'll be tired enough to sleep your last night pre op.

Bon Voyage

Hey! I did a "bon voyage" lunch with girlfriends and we "toasted" a not to fond farewell to the pesky ovary, uterus, etc and let me tell you, it felt good so you have a great time but DON'T DRINK TOO MUCH as your surgery is the next day, make sure to follow your surgery rules!

Have a great time! It really should make you feel better!

Going away party!

I am planning a bonfire after my recovery! I'm going to light one in the backyard, all my girlfriends are coming over and we are going to hoot, holler, and dance around it while throwing my bulk supplies of pads and tampons in! My final goodbye to the ****ed little things!!!!!

Going away party!

The bonfire sounds like a fine idea too! I'm pampering myself today. Had my castle pre-op yesterday (blood test and EKG). Now I'm sitting with feet in foot bath. Getting ready to go buy the food stuff for the party. Tonight my only instructions from DR. is shower, shampoo :hair:, betadine douche, and nothing by mouth after midnight. At 6:30 in the morning it's check in at the castle for the real deal! Today , tomorrow at this time !!

Going away party!

What a fantastic idea! Now just be sure you invite friends who will CLEAN UP after themselves! LOL!

I LOVE the burning the pad, tampons party but will have to check into that one to make sure I don't get arrested or fined or something! Too many burning laws here.
Of course, if I can't do it here...I may have a friend with a camp that is allowed. hmmmm....

I was also thinking...you know how they have elf names, hobbit names and ya-ya names etc.?

How about Princess names? What will your Princess name be after surgery? I like that idea and will have to work at coming up with mine! My ya-ya name is "Countess Plays in the Rain" - pretty appropriate.

OK sisters! Let's all get our names and start planning our parties and burning rituals! YAAY! hehehe
