Pink discharge

Hi Everyone!

I'm 3 weeks post and have this pink discharge yet. How long should this last??? In the morning when I get up, I can feel a small amount leak out. Then I have it through out the day. My bottom is getting irritated from wearing panty liners 24-7. I was soooo looking forward to a bathroom free of "paper products." Any ideas how long this will last????

Pink discharge

Hi,

Sometimes it can last a while longer -- is your doctor aware of this? It is normal, but inconvenient, isn't it?

As long as it's not heavy or bright red you should be okay (and hopefully it will end soon).

Pink discharge

I have this irritating pink discharge too. It even smells kind of yucky. At the 2 week appt (I had TVH on 8/15) I asked about it. My doc says I am fine and healing well. The discharge is related to the sutures dissolving. Should not last beyond the 4 week point.

I have to admit that I gave up on the pads. Not to save my bottom, but slightly more delicate parts. I usually don't have any discharge unless I sit on the potty, but if I do, I just change undies. I'd rather do that than be so sore.

Pink discharge

I had a light, pinkish discharge from week 2 until my 6 week check. Part of it was from stitches dissolving but I also had some granulation (tissue trying to form over some undissolved stitches). My doctor cauterized the area with silver nitrate and that took care of the problem. You may want to mention this to your doctor - they may want to see you now or they may wait until your next exam and see how things are healing. Take care.
