Bladder suspension?

I just got back from a pre-surg consult with my surgeon, and during the session we discussed whether or not my bladder would be suspended during my TAH. He said that unless the bladder floor was weakened or damaged in some way, that he saw no need to suspend a bladder.

(I am 35 healthy, no prev bladder problems or infections)

Any thoughts, sisters? Experiences? I would love to know whether to pursue the line of investigation or to accept my doctor's suggestions.

Bladder suspension?

I discussed the same issue with my surgeon prior to my hyst. He told me the same thing--- felt there was no need for a suspension as I have never had any bladder difficulties. After surgery no problems, everything functions normally, so his advise was accurate. I think they only do a bladder suspension if you have a bladder that is beginning to prolapse, or some other such problem.

Perhaps someone else here will come along who has had it done and has a little more info to share. You might also try doing a search---type in "bladder suspension" to find past discussions on the subject.

Best of luck to you!

Bladder suspension?

Hate to sound really ignorant, but is bladder suspension the same as tacking the bladder? I have some leakage when I sneeze and cough. I'm having mine "tacked" during my surgery.
