Help!!!

s Talina

Has your doctor done any studies relating to your ovaries? Is he concerned because of your PCOS?
When in doubt, please see a gyn oncology surgeon. If your doctor starts the surgery and then decides your ovaries look suspicious, he may not be qualified to perform the proper surgery. Perhaps a second opinion would be helpful to you.
Best wishes.

Help!!!

Hi, Talina!

It does occasionally happen that someone thinks they have a precancerous condition and at surgery it is discovered that it is cancer. It happens, but not often. My LEEP showed CIS, but when I had my TAH and they biopsied the uterus and cervix, it came back as normal, so apparently the LEEP took care of getting the cells.

As far as the ovaries, it is standard procedure for the ovaries to be checked to determine if they are healthy. When I went in to surgery it was under the assumption that the ovaries would be kept if they were healthy, but they would be removed if they looked even suspicious. I still have them, so they must have looked pretty good .

Good luck, Talina!

Help!!!

Hi,
I was told that the condition was precancerous but when they got in there it was cancer. It was very early and the hysterectomy was the only treatment that I needed. I am getting close to my 1 year anniversary.

I am the exception to the rule and still my prognosis is excellent. My chance of reoccurance is less than 1%.

So, please don't worry.

Why are they looking at the ovaries? I was told that the 2 cancers are not related.
