Yesterday was not a good day - have to vent
Well, friends, yesterday was not a good day. My beloved dachshund, Molly, started having epileptic seizures again in the morning (she had not had one for over two months). After the seizures, she became very "loopy" (cried a lot, whined, etc). I called the emergency vet (this was Sunday) and they said that weird (including aggressive) behavior after a seizure was normal. Well, I tried to get something out of her mouth (she decided to chew on some plastic for some reason) and I tried to get it out -- when I tried to get it out, she bit down hard on my finger and the bite drew blood. I immediately freaked out and called the Oncology resident on call -- to make a long story short, I have to be on heavy-duty antibiotics for a week. I have a veterinarian visit for my dog this afternoon to talk about switching her meds (she is normally not an aggressive dog, so I'm assuming it was the epilepsy) and I'm supposed to have chemo tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'm going to get the chemo now because of the dog bite. All in all, it was not a good day, and I hope things get better...
Love,
Cyndy

Sorry to Read This...
I hope your chemo isn't delayed--but if it is, it's for your safety and to get the best results from the chemo. I'm thinking they may not want to go with the antibiotics. Hopefully switching epilepsy meds will help the dog and it was just a one-time occurrence. Here's hoping the dog's OK and that you are as well and maybe can get that chemo--if not, yes, it's awfully disappointing but one of those darn things that have to be.
I love dachshunds too but am an aunt now to a ShihTzu who's returning from Boston later today with her mom (my mother's first cousin) and who will get TWO new toys from her aunt later this week.

Cyndy,
Sweetie I am so sorry to hear this about your dog and you too, I will pray that you are able to take your Chemo and your dog gets better too. If it turns out that you can't receive your Chemo, I will ask God to Bless you that you will be OK, until you are able to receive it.
 And :kisses:
