Finally a princess, finally my life back

Well surgey was 8/26/02. TAH/BSO with some bowel surgery for adhesions. My castle stay was great except for the urethral stents with the catheter. Because I wasn't outputting enough urine I had to have them in for two days. Because of that I had horrible bladder spasums. I thought I was going to die! I was sure something horrible was wrong. The mean night nurse took 3 hours to call someone from urology to look at me before I was prescibed meds. Of course the stuff they gave me made me throw up which was painful in itself! I was lucky though because I got to keep my PCA until they came out. Finally they came out after two days after I threatened to rip them out myself (of course I wouldn't, I was frustrated) As soon as they took the stents and cath out I felt wonderful! I was released that afternoon and have not felt this good in the last ten years. I am amazed at how sick I really was! Three weeks post op I was back to work part time. Four weeks post op (9/23/02) I am back full time and am doing great! I was so scared after reading all the post op messages, but I have had no complications at all. Thanks to all the sisters out there for the hope and encouragement. You have made the last 8 weeks less stressful, and have calmed my fears.
