Anti-depressants?

It is really hard to understand, but they prescribe it for hot flashes and yet that is one of the possible side effects...I have talked to several who took it for depression and it gave them hot flashes and night sweats...I am taking Bellaspas which my Gyn prescribed and that is working perfectly...Haven't had a hot flash since I started taking it...He said it wouldn't be as hard to wean myself off of if I wanted to....

I've heard a lot about Effexor. Come Monday morning I will be calling my gyn/onc to see what he will put me on, and I'm going to ask him about Effexor. I have heard that it makes your blood pressure go up. Did you guys notice that?

I certainly need something for my depression, so I'm looking for the miracle drug!!!

I've been on Effexor for years for depression, and have had few side effects. Yes, my dreams are odder and much more free-wheeling than they were before, but not scary. It has not made me feel like a zombie. I still get joy out of the good things. It just takes down the bad stuff. Occasionally I note that maybe I should have been more upset about something, but getting upset is a choice and Effexor keeps me from automatically going nuts about stuff. Hope this helps.
