Nausea, Nausea, Nausea

I had a TAH on Aug. 16, 02 & coming out of surgery they had the climera patch 1mg. on me, & then had me start on 1mg of Estrace orally a week after. Was doing fine on it until I hit the 6 week mark, & all of a sudden started have pins & needles sensations throughout entire body 24 hrs. a day, along with intermittent hot flashes, & nausea. My Dr upped my Estrace to 1.5 mg/day with .5 in AM & 1 in PM. Am still feeling terrible & now the nausea has increased. Any suggestions?

how long have you been on your new dose? i understand that it takes about a month for your body to use up the stored hormones after a BSO, so if you haven't been on the new dose too long you may just need to give it more time. if it gets bad though, give your dr another call.

Debbie,
Have you noticed if the nausea comes at a certain time every day? Are you taking your pill with food? If not that is something you can try. You might want to start journalling your symptoms.

Nausea, Nausea, Nausea

I've been on this increased dose for four days, but after listening to what everyone else is telling me, I need to give it longer, but I honestly don't think I can tolerate the nausea that overcomes me whether I've eaten or not, or taken it sublingual or by swallowing. Sometimes it lasts throughout the day, & sometimes for a couple of hours here & there. The hot flashes seem to be increasing with those sudden jolts in bed as if my heart is turning over. I'm waiting for a return call from my MD. Will let you know what he says. Thank you so much for your support!!!!

My Dr switched me to Estratist HS. He felt my body was not adjusting to estrogen alone, so lowered the dose of Estrogen & added some testosterone. I don't know if I'd feel the effects so soon - have only been on it 2 days, but the nausea is gone, & so are the hot flashes. I surely hope it continues!!! I had been on the Estrace since surgery, & it never seemed to do the trick. loves & hugs, Debbie
