Thank you all so much sisters....

You know I had thought about the estrogen and the thinning etc...but I've only been off of HRT for approx 6 weeks. Do you think it could happen in such a short period of time?

Gosh....wouldn't you know it. DH and I were intimate last night for the first time in a long time...and I am very sore as a result. In fact the pain was been worse since the exam over a week ago

I think the pm doc didn't get me into the uro/gyn sooner because he was aware that I have a dr's appointment on Oct. 15 with a top Endo specialist. He did mention that I should talk to him about it then. Do you gals think this is soon enough?

As far as discharge...there isn't one. Sometimes I have a discharge that reminds me of when I was ovulating, but that happens very rarely now. I do leak small amounts of urine. Sometimes for no reason at all...but usually it's after I think I'm done...take my time, sit a moment longer...nothing so then I stand up and there are trickles.

I appreciate your thoughts guys...and I will call the doc who did the exam...better yet, I'll e-mail him, as he usually always returns them.

I am a little concerned as I know there have been times when the doc should have told me more about something, and hasn't. Thanks for sharing with me....S

PS-If you werent getting enuf Estrogen while you were on it, that could happen?? Check out the pull downs in the Jungle, it has some excellent info on what lack of Estrogen can do...

(((Jude))))) Just wanted to send more s your way and to say that I also have the same problem: think I'm done, get up and leak some more. One thing I found: I have a tendency to lean forward... a left over from when I had to do because of the fibroid/rectocele impeding things... If I sit up straight before standing, I will trickle some more and, usually, will not leak when I stand.

Take care, sweetie, and please keep us posted.

Thanks for the tip Dany, I'm gonna have to try this

I'm hoping that is what is going on, its better than the other issues..IMO seems less serious but still scarey either way...((hugs))

Okay....Now I'm really confused LOL!

I e-mailed this doc (Yes, he actually e-mails me back ) and this is what he said...

"I think we should book a transvaginal ultrasound study after you see him (Endo Specialist). I think this kind of adhesion can sometimes occur after surgery."

So now he's saying it could be an adhesion, when I know both he and the nurse said it was a hole I am totally confused now. Oh well...<sigh> I guess it will sort itself out soon enough.

Any ideas?? Thanks sweet sisters

I'm sorry about not getting back to you sooner...I was able to get on very little this weekend.

JMHO here, as a ultrasound technologist: do get that vaginal ultrasound, but don't be surprised if it doesn't turn up much. We don't "see" adhesions really well on ultrasound. Actually, they're tough to see by any modality, be it CT, MRI, whatever. And I'm not really sure WHAT mode would "see" that vaginal fistula (or "hole") .

Do make sure you let the sonographer know exactly what it is you've been dealing with, and exactly where it is, so they can "target" their investigation. Also, although bladders can be tough to see, let them know about the possible endo re-growth there. We can't "see" ureters particularly well, nor do we do a great job with the bladder, but I guess your PM doc thinks that this is a logical next step. How long do you have to wait for an appointment for this?

Again, sweetie, I'm so sorry I never got back to you on this...I kept meaning to, but life has been getting in my way lately...

Is the pain any better, at least?

Thanks so much ((((((((Audrey))))))))

I guess I'm a little about all of this. I appreciate your post dear friend.

I'm not sure how long I'll have to wait for this...as it hasn't been booked yet. I've been in contact with the PM doc via e-mail. He said that I should avoid sex (he never said this during/after the examination)...so thanks to you, I knew to ask him this.

I did ask him to inlcude this bladder thing in the u/s so hopefully they'll be able to tell what's going on...fingers crossed.

I am seeing a top Endo doc on the 15th of this month...and I'm sure he'll have some more info for me. DH is coming with me to this appointment...so he can make sure I ask all of the questions that need to be asked...because if I don't...he will.

Any thoughts on why the pm doc would say it was a hole, and now possibly an adhesion? Are these two things one in the same? Sorry for all of the questions...I know you're busy, and that I'm asking you to 'speculate.'

As for the pain...it has been very bad...or should I say worse, since the exam. I'm also starting to show signs of no estrogen...flashing a lot now...but that's okay and the least of my worries. I'm thinking that I should be getting my hormones checked when I see the Endo specialist next week. I guess if the pain was going to decrease, I'd notice it by now.

Thanks for everything dear friend. You are an angel. I hope you are doing well

ny thoughts on why the pm doc would say it was a hole, and now possibly an adhesion? Are these two things one in the same?
Well, I'm always willing to speculate: it may be both -- a small fistula and/or adhesion that's formed at the area of the cuff, and in poking "through" what in fact they may have been doing is finding a "folded" adhesion. I just can't say that it would be found on ultrasound.

Just a hint for that appointment with the endo specialist...whatever you've got in the house for pain, as long as it doesn't leave you a zombie, I'd take it before the appointment -- anti-inflammatories, too. They're going to go "poking around" and maybe it will help with the pain afterward, plus help them get a really good exam. I'm glad your DH is going with you -- this is too important for just you; another pair of ears is a great idea.

I go back and forth with my estrogen. I got the lowest-dose Vivelle and went off for a few days before switching over. And I think my pain is decreasing a bit (finger-crossing here!). However, I did start up with some vaginal problems and started topical cream, hoping that it doesn't affect the bladder too much...

Hope your appointment goes well next week, and of course I know you'll keep us posted???
