Anyone have younger children?

Hi ya'll
I just turned 36 when I had my radical hyst and the birth of my son. We both spent little over 2 months in the hospital. His a preemie. You are not alone. It was extremely hard taking care of him at 2 monhths and just home formthe hospital. Both of us. He had some breathing problems, but lucky they went away quickly.

We sort of recovered together. Although, I am still in the strugglilng stage, he is very active 2 year old now. He is very curious and intrested in my scar. I just tell him that is where he casme from. He likes to point to ilt and himself. It is cute.

young or older, it is hard caring for children after a hyst, hyst and radication--or other cancer treatments. You are not alone. Make you r husband help so you can have time to yourself to breathe.

Anyone have younger children?

I was 25 when i had my hyst in september. i just turned 26 and i have a 6 yr old boy and a 4 year old girl.
the only really hard part was when i didnt have helpers here and i have a 2 story home with the only bathroom on 2nd floor. Chasing the kids around up an down the stairs and helping them to bed. my daughter is afraid of the noise the tiolet makes when flushing it so i always have to go up after her and do it.
But they were really good about helping when they could.. and about being gentle with mommy.
I explained as well as i could for their ages that mommy had big boo-boos on the inside of her belly that the doctors needed to fix and i let them see my incision when they wanted to. seeing it seemed to help them understand alot more that mommy really did have a big boo-boo and they make sure not to touch my belly when hugging me still. The are always asking me how my boo-boo feels.
On my birthday at 4 weeks post op- my son asked his teacher if he could make a card for me in school and she let the whole class make cards for me. so i got 28 get well / happy birthday cards from 6 year olds... it was the sweetest thing i have ever seen and made me cry.

Anyone have younger children?

I'm 28. Ethan is 7 and Caleb is 18mos.
I'll be having my hysterectomy sometime around Christmas for cervical cancer. I don't know if I'll need radiation or chemo yet. Hopefully NOT!

I had my cone biopsy a week and a half ago, and my 7 Y.O. was a WONDERFUL helper. He got me drinks and read me a bedtime story. The baby, well--I hid from him.
However, that was just for 2 days. I'm so glad that I have a wonderful husband, and my mom will be flying in to help. My MIL has also offered to fly in and help. That would be so nice (yeah, I actually get along with her!)

Anyone have younger children?

My DD was also six when I had my hyst, and her entire first grade class also made me cards. We put them up on the bulletin board in my hospital room, and they were the topic of conversation for everyone who came in!

Anyone have younger children?

New here so way late in posting to this. I'm 34 and have three children. DS - 11, DD - 3 (will be 4 in Feb.) and DD - 3. I am very lucky to have my parents, grandparents and in-laws to help take care of them after surgery. DH works 24 hour shifts so we never know when he is going to be around.

Thumbs up - Anyone have younger children? I thought I was the only "baby" around here!

It's kind of comforting to know I"m not the only young mom around here. My daughter is 3, and I also have a stepson, 13, who lives with us full time.

I'm 28, and I still think I'm too young to be dealing with a hysterectomy! But what can I do?

Anyone have younger children?

I have 5 children all together. My youngest is 3 years old and I also have a 5yo, an 8 yo, an 11 yo, and a 13 yo. My only boy is 11. I had my first child at 21 and I am now coming up for 35 years old. I still consider myself to be young....kinda have to with this many kiddies.
