Things a mother doesn't want to hear from her kids

"Mom, do we have a bigger saw?" (just heard this gem a few minutes ago, which is what prompted me to start this thread)

"Where do you keep the carpet cleaner?"

"You know that tree by the driveway...?"

"Oops, I forgot to take the gum out of my pants pockets" (this, when the pants in question have been in the dryer for ten minutes already)

"Oh-oh, I seem to have left my jacket on the plane" (in the car on the way home from the airport)

"Where do we keep the really big band-aids?"

Kids really DO say the darnedest things...

s,
-Linda

Things a mother doesn't want to hear from her kids

Here's a few I have gotten:

"Mom, was that antique bowl worth alot of money?"

On the night we are having guests for dinner: "Mom, was that dessert in the kitchen for something special?"

"How much does it cost to remove a tiny <<ding>> from the car?"

"Can leaves be burned in the city?" "I just started the fire but I can put it out quickly."

I got a call at work one day: "Mom, if I pierce my own nose will you be mad?" (she had already done it)

Things a mother doesn't want to hear from her kids

Even though my DD's are both in their 20's, I find that any conversation that starts out with, "Hey Mom, Um, Um, Well, Um, " can never lead to anything good.

Things a mother doesn't want to hear from her kids

I have been married before and have 2 children from that marriage. My husband had been married twice before and had two children from his first marriage and a stepson from his second marriage. His first two marriages lasted 6 years each time.
These are some of the kid's comments thru the years (funny yet sad as all divorced parents will agree).

14 years ago when we got engaged my husband told my kids "I love your mother a lot and we are going to get married"
My then 15 year old son replies: "I bet you told all your wives that!!". (Yes, he was hostile at first)

After seven years of marriage my eldest stepson who was then 28 came to me and said "You really feel like my mom now, my dad has made it past the sixth year!! Did you know my brother and I had a bet on whether he could?"

We have now been married 12 years and our assortment of 5 kids consider each other brothers and sisters and we have had some great family vacations with all of them. We have two beautiful grandsons from the eldest son. We have two wonderful daughters in law. Our youngest is in college. We feel so lucky.
We are also very very happy and they know it, which I think makes a difference.
