9 days...bleeding more not less?

Hey girls,

HELP! I'm at nnine days post and I just don't want to panic, especially since it's not "heavy" ...but until Monday I was using one panty liner per day and not filling it. Since then, more each day. Today it was three panty liners pretty stained up, but not full. Bright fresh bleeding.

Also, my pain changes from place to place each day...now it's really bad right above the pubic bone. It feels like bad cramps, or a bladder infection (no symptoms of that though) and like it could split open inside if I coughed or laughed... Even with my pillow. In fact it hurts to put pillow pressure there. It hurt to put pillow pressure on other spots of pain earlier too, but this is just beginning to wear on me I guess.

I saw doc yesterday and told him the pain changed every day and the bleeding was heavier. he seemed very non-chalant about it, and said that was normal. I just need to hear some other stories. Does this sound like anyone elses stories?

I'm really nervous for the first time.

9 days...bleeding more not less?

Hi Sweetie! I didn't have much spotting, but my doctor told me to call if I was bleeding more than a pad an hour OR if it was bright red. Is the doctor aware this is bright red blood? The spotting is normal (mine was kinda brownish), but I would be concerned as well.

Have you been a good ? Is it possible you're overdoing it a bit?

Maybe you should take it real easy for a couple days and if it doesn't let up give your doc another call!

9 days...bleeding more not less?

I was told to call if I soaked more than a pad an hour also. However, I've had the bright red bleeding since I had the surgery. Like you, one pad a day - today two. I mentioned I was still having bright red spotting to him yesterday and he didn't seemed concerned.

I think I would mention to my doctor the pain that even hurt to put pressure with my pillow on though. That sounds like something might be going on and as I'm learning the hard way lol, it's better to be cautious during the healing!!

Hope you are feeling better soon!!!!

thanks for the encouragement Shan. I was thinking of you as I wrote my inquiry. I found it ironic that I was worrying about your pain and advising you, as I was getting worse. How's your pain? better I hope.

I was just getting on to post about the same thing!

I'm about 9 days (LAVH on Oct 7) from surgery and didn't bleed after surgery except for a few clotty spots. Today I've got pain and filled a panty shield and had spotting the rest of the day. Also BMs are painful like I feel my insides contracting and today it was so bad I threw up a little. I did have my mother drive me to a juice place and get a juice and grab something from the grocery store, but nothing really major in walking. I know what you mean about the pain moving and it being over the pubic bone. Mine is also in my lower back. It's worse when I have to go #2 though and I have to make sure I've had my pain meds before I go.

Do you have a fever? I was told if the bleeding is heavier than a normal period then it is something to be checked. I'll be interested in the answers to your post too since I'm worried about this too and wondering when I'd start to feel better.

thanks for letting me know how you were doing. I hope we're both just going through a "normal" stage. Right now I can't sleep either...this for the first time. I think it's cause I'm worried. I hope it;snot the hormone thing kicking in! I'll keep you posted on how I'm doing...you do the same.

9 days...bleeding more not less?

Well I saw the doctor today about the bleeding. He said that the amount of red bleeding I have (filling 4-5 panty liners in 24 hours) was okay, but that it could change if I wasn't careful. He said I have a place on the vaginal cuff which has a clot forming. He said he doesn't want it disturbed, cause then it could start a flood and we'd be back into the O.R. re stitching things. He told me to go home and go to bed and to stop thinking about the walking for a while, and "take your iron!" He wants it to heal by itself if possible. He also said not to feel stupid calling or coming in every day if need be, because this clot could be okay now and not okay in 5 hours. So ladies...listen to your bodies and call your doctor as often as you think you need to. Like he said "that's what we're here for".

Shan,

thanks for the thoughts! Sometimes I feel so alone. This place is the greatest! How is your bladder today? Have you asked your doc about the pain meds yet?

I was filling up about a pad a day when I first got home. I am now two weeks and am filling up two. Mine seems to be the same as others. Pinkish brown. Dr. said that this is to be expected for several weeks. She also said that if it turns bright red, to call her asap. Hope you're feeling better soon. So much to worry about, huh?
