Having a hyst and need advice on hrt and vitamins

Hello sisters.....
I am having a hysterectomy on October 23rd and will not be able to take hrt for a while. I have read some posts about vitamins and such. Does anyone have any advice on what vitamins might help the most. Things that have worked for them.
Any info would be greatly appreciated....

I think a good place for you to check out would be the hormone pulldowns. Go up there to where it says "More Hystersisters" and scroll down to "Hormone Pulldown" and click go. That will take you to a page with more pulldown's and all kinds of info including info about vitamins.
I'm a big believer in vitamins and even though I am taking hrt (.625 Premarin) I take a bunch of supplements every day.........I'm not saying everyone should take all this, but it works for me. I have taken a multi-vitamin and C and E and COQ10 for years but added the rest after my hyst when I couldn't take much in the way of hrt for the first 6 months after my surgery due to endo my doc had me on the smallest dosage of Premarin (0.3 mg per day) for the first 6 months and it wasn't enough, truthfully, but I was determined to make it thru that 6 months, and I did, and then doc increased the dosage and I've been doing great since.
Vitamin E
Calcium
COQ10
Black Kohosh
Multi-vitamin
Primrose Oil
Flaxseed Oil
Vitamin C
Glucosomine

Also you could try going to "Search" and doing a search on vitamin supplements, I'm sure you'll come up with some info that way too.

Good luck to you

No HRT

I use the following and feel terrific.

Calcium
Magnesium
Evening Primrose Oil
Vit E
Fish oil
Black cohosh
A good multi

I do not flash. My sex drive is great. I do use a vaginal estrogen cream as I was having some issues with dryness and painful intercourse. Just a teeny dab every day does the trick for me.

Drink alot of water. Layer your clothes so you can remove them as you get warm. Do nice things for yourself. Have a positive attitude. Put yourself first while healing. Sleep with a fan and no PJ's.

I am 5 months post and feel better than ever.

Good luck on your surgery and please post to let us know how you are!
