I've been away WAY too long!

Some of you all may remember that I had surgery in July and had a 2 week hospital stay. Well ... 3 days after I got home from the hospital we had a house fire and lost everything. This all happened while we (dh & I) were at the doctors office.

I've been going to the Oncologist every week for bloodwork to monitor my platelets - still.

I was finally able to start radiation today. 1 down 24 to go. They are going front to back on me. Doc says I shouldn' t have any side effects at all. That's good - lol.

What a terrible summer! Now we're having the house fixed, which is taking longer than I want.

Enough of that. I just wanted to post a little update on me.:hair:

I've been away WAY too long!

Welcome back, Tara!

I am SOOOO sorry to hear about your house. How horrible to have that happen! Thank goodness you were not injured in any way. I am happy to hear, though, that your radiation is underway and that you have a bright outlook! Good luck as you are going through your treatments. Come back and let us know how you are getting along!

I'm so very sorry to hear what you've been through these last few months. That's a whole lot going on in a very short amount of time. 's to you!

I'm glad you've been able to begin your treatments, the countdown begins!!!

I'll be saying an extra prayer that you experience little or no side effects and GREAT results from the radiation.

Please keep us posted on how things go for you when you can.

I've been away WAY too long!

s Tara

I remember you very well. It's great to hear from you!
I am so sorry to read about your house fire. Geez, enough is enough sometimes.
So radiation is underway. Hopefully your side effects will be minimal.
Platelets have been a problem for a few of us on this site. Are yours too high or too low?
Keep in touch when you are able.
You are in my prayers Tara. I'm glad to see your fighting attitude is still going strong. You are a remarkable young lady.

Tara, Sorry for Your Loss of Home

What a horrible experience for you atop everything else! May the repairs speed up and may the radiation be successful with minimal or no side effects. A big and ray:er for you.

I've been away WAY too long!

They say God doesn't give you more than you can handle ... sometimes I wonder. lol

2 down, 23 more to go.

Low platelets are my problem. They went down to 2000 in the hospital and I had platelet infusions. Not a pretty sight.

I've had 3 infusions of gamma globulins (IVIG) since July just to keep them up. They go from 225,000 to 80,000. The lowest they got was 35,000 since I've been home from the hospital.

Thanks everyone for the ers.

Love
