Sore after Leep

Hello ladies,
I had my first abnormal pap 14 years ago and had cryosurgery. All paps since then have been normal until this past August. Pap came back abnormal, atypical cells, can not rule out high grade lesions, and bacterial infection. Primary doctor sends me to OBGYN who repeats pap and gives med for infection. The second pap comes back NORMAL, but in lieu of first results suggests colposcopy and I agree. As a result of colpo, she does biopsies and ECC which come back moderate dysplasia CIN II and ECC shows ectocervical dysplasia mucosa. So she did a leep, cone bopsy and D&C yesterday in Outpatient surgery. Discomfort is gone but I am sore.......any one else feel this way after a leep, cone or D&C,,,,not sure which I am sore from.....

And now the worst part....the waiting game once again. I think the worst part of all these medical nightmares are the waiting times from tests to results.....

You all seem like a wonderful bunch of ladies and I wish you all well.

Sore after Leep

Hi Carmanni,

I didn't have a LEEP or a D&C but did have two cones (10 yrs apart) and did have a bit of soreness after. You are so right about the waiting for the results being the worse part. I'm nearly 2 yrs past my hyst and I haven't got used to it yet.

Sending you lots of 's and saying a little prayer that you'll get good news.

Sore after Leep

Hi EM

Feeling a little less sore today...I guess each day will get better. Have found a warm shower helps. I am hoping the leep and cone will have taken care of the dysplasia and that will be the end to this medical nightmare.....

Thank you for the prayers and hugs....they truly help

(((Carmanni)))

Many 's to you! I was sore and kind of yucky feeling after both my cone and D&C (in 1987) and my LEEP and D&C (in 2001). It's a lot for a body to go through. I felt fairly recovered within 3 or 4 days. I hope this takes care of it for you, too. Good luck! Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing!

sore too

I had a cone biopsy and d/c done on 10/17 and did not really have too much pain from the actual procedure, save for the external portion of my vagina, probably from being wide-open for an hour! But...I ovulated about 4 days after and WHEW! that hurt!!! Scheduled for TVH on 12/16 -- diagnosis is cervical carcinoma in situ.

Sore after Leep

Hello again Ladies
I am feeling better, soreness has seemed to subside. Pain that doctor said was probably from ovulating is gone, but still no period. Anyway, now have pains in upper abdomen, they tell me it could be a side effect from antibiotics. Gee, this is such fun. I think I am turning into a hypocondriac. Well, visit to primary doctor for referral to gyn/onc is tomorrow.
Sending hugs and well wishes to all.

Sore after Leep

Hello again ladies
Thought I would follow up my own thread for any future ladies. I had a visit to my Primary for referral to GYN Oncologist. She did a pelvic exam and told me that the soreness and discomfort I was feeling was from a swollen Bartholins gland and that the skin was irritated from clips used during LEEP. She seemed annoyed that OBGYN did not offer this explanation last week when I pointed out these problems and soreness. Just thought I would post this info for any future women who might end up with same situation.
Hugs and prayers to all

P.S. She also agrees with hysterectomy and is sending me for pelvic ultrasound, referring me to another GYN and GYN Oncologist also. And so the wait continues.......
