What will the good parts be?

I'm getting nervous and anxious and tired of waiting, and still have a couple of weeks to go. Can this tension get worse? Yikes!

So, I thought I'd start a list of the things that I'm really looking forward to, so I can concentrate on them instead of the fear:

1) I'll be able to stop bleeding for the first time since July!

2) No more mysterious pains

3) No more planning everything, and I do mean everything, around my ******* periods

4) No more worrying about something *really* being wrong and undetected until it's too late

5) I'll be able to buy underwear in nice pastel colors, instead of all blacks and burgandies so they won't show the stains so bad

6) I'll be able to buy a new mattress pad and a new set of sheets and they'll stay nice

7) I can stay in a hotel and not be mortified by the stains I left behind on the sheets and the towels

8) I'll have more energy

9) I can have a sex life with my DH

10) I can prove that I can get through this without losing my mind

11) I can use all that storage space in the bathrooms for nice bubblebath and lotion

12) I can actually take a bath

13) I won't have to keep TP by the shower to "tuck in" long enough to make it to the bathroom to put on a pad

14) I won't have to keep a throw rug in front of the shower so I don't stain the carpet when I didn't do #13 fast enough

15) I won't have to find new, creative ways to sneak products into the restroom at work (up my sleeve, tucked in my panties, etc.)

16) I won't have to ride my motorcycle in 90+ degree weather feeling like I'm in a soggy diaper

17) I won't have horrible cramps that make me cry constantly

18) I will be able to sleep through the night instead of being woken up by cramps and that uh-oh feeling

19) I will be able to stand up, or roll over, or do a somersault without worrying about leaking

20) And, the best of all, I will have my life back!

Wow -- that's a lot of great stuff to look forward to. When I get scared I'm going to be able to look at the list and remind myself that this is something where the positives really outweigh the negatives.

Thanks for letting me share.

What will the good parts be?

White pants - that stay white

No second guessing during woopee of whether I'm wearing those stained panties or not when the DH slides them off

All NEW panties - Victoria's Secret here I come!!

No more wondering if your collegues see your facial changes when you start to drain during an important meeting

No more rushing to the potty because you started your period only to find that your teenage daughter did not leave you any supplies

No more wondering if it is ethical/moral to go swimming with a tampon knowing full well that you are no better than the kiddies in the kiddy pool

No more finding a little butter tub to soak strained panties in peroxide, and hoping you can hide it well enough that your DH won't have to look at it

Making love and not ever wondering *if* you will get pregnant again - even when you take precautions(this is a positive for me!)

Savings on birth control, condoms, tampons, pads (maxi), pads (medium flow), pads (light control), Pamprin, Midol, iron supplements, lost work

The freedom to wear a tight little pair of shorts and not have to worry about bulging areas...

Ahh yes, need I go on? Obviously I have given this much thought!!

Emma, you are my hero!

Thank you x's 100!!! I am sooo scared, this is going to be printed out so I can look at it often! I LOVE # 15! heh! I don't like to post o much because I feel like all I do is whine. This has helped me so much! You are an Most all of your list applies to me except the "husband" stuff. I am blissfully single, I think partly due the the fact I have my period for about 3 weeks out of a month. Never really felt like doing much of anything, if you know what I mean! Umm, he was not very sensitive to my problems. Between all the family and friend I have for support AND this board I feel very lucky! I am ready to not feel so all the time. Again Emma, thanks so much for taking the time to post your list. Great pick me up on a dreary Sunday morning!
