I am Lost

I am 27 yo and have had problems since I was 17. I have endmetrosis, adhesions and enlarged uterus. I have had 5 lapo's since I was 17. I was told I would never have a child and I gave birth 4 years ago. I am now in so much pain, my stomach looks like iI am 7 months pregnant and I have awful periods. My Gyn states she does not want to do a hyst on me becouse of my age and I only having one child. I made my husband of 7 years go with me to my last appt and tell her that we both want it done and if we wanted more children we can adopt. She did a lapo again on me Aug 1st and found lots of adhesions and my endmetrosis is back to a stage two. I just had surgery Dec 01 and had adhesions removed and endmetrosis burned down. So here it is two months later and I am swelled again. The just did another CT on me and uterus is the size of a 36 week. She now wants to try me on the pill for the 65th time and do another ultrasound on the 12th to see if the uterus is still growing. I am so lost and fusterated. I finally took a stand called my insurance and begged for auth from all the results they have. THey said yes to the go ahead and now I am waiting for the Doc to call and tell me when we will do this. Has anyone had this many problems getting a Dr to fix them?

Thank you for hearing me out!!

In so much pain and to young,

Hi Rachelle

No one should have to live with pain. Have you considered getting a second opinion? The fact that your insurance company gave the go ahead for surgery makes me wonder if your doctor isn't comfortable performing a hyst.

Please consider getting a second opinion. You've been through a lot and shouldn't have to live like this.

I am having the same problem. I am 23 and have endo and highly suspected adeno. My insurance company Blue Cross (PPO) is very hesitant to authorize the surgery and they are making me see a third doctor (another specialist) in Maryland. I am starting to get SO depressed about this, I just want to have the surgery and get that thing out of there!!

WOW Are we sisters!!!!
I am 27 and have had all of the same problems including cyst. I have had 2 laperosopys. I was also told NO KIDS. now after lots of prays our little girl is 5!!! I have tried so many BC that my husband said NO MORE. It is hard on us both emotionaly. The sexual life goes down hill, as he does not want to hurt me during the intercorse. I have gone thru a few Dr.s till I found one that understands. We have been ready for this. I was blessed with one child and do not need any more. The Dr. don't understand that with as much pain as we are in that can kill a marriage. If the marriage is gone then why would we want kids at that time either. If it is our choice than DO IT!!! I just talk to my insurance company today and they said all is a go. that no second opinion is needed as they have my history of all the Dr. visits. So Tomorrow the Dr. will give me a date for next week.
Don't give up. you how much it hurts so fight till you get what YOU want...
lots of hug

Dear Ladies,

(((Hugs))) to both ladies. You're both young and with so many problems. Since you got your insurance company to okay the surgery, try another obgyn doctor for a second opinion. Even though you're so young, the pain and problems only increase with time. I'm so sorry for your pain and having to make this complicated, life-changing decision at your age. I, too, had endo at a young age and it caused infertility with me. I went through alot of fertility treatments (infertility testing) and my husband and I never were able to have children, but God blessed us with a sweet, baby girl through adoption. She's now 15 and a blessing. Do consider another opinion. It's good to have the support of your husband, as well, as you'll definitely need his help during surgery/recovery. Please keep us posted as to what's going on. Be praying for you, God bless, best wishes to you. I had a full, complete hysterectomy this year and feel so much better. Also, I would encourage you to check out the Hormone Jungle Site as to if hormone replacement therapy is needed or not. I definitely needed it, because my ovaries had endo on them. I feel much better now, though.

this is my opinion;always get medical advice from your doctor
ps - there's also a site on endometriosus and hysterectomies for young women - do a search on endo and see if you can find the site

Thank you for all of your replies. WoW it is so neat to here from people my age knowing what I am going through. The Doctor called me at 7pm my time and states she is going to do it and will call me with dates. I have had a second opinion but we live in a small town so I am going with the Doctor that makes me feel comfortable. She may be hesitant but she is so kind natured. She just never has done it on some on my age. Well again thank you and good luck to everyone. I will be going in on the 12th still for the ultrasound to see how fast my uterus is actually growing. Becouse the first ultrasound 4 months ago showed 13 week, my Ct showed 28 weeks only 3 weeks ago. She wants to document the growth untill she can get me in. She states it is not an emergancy at this time. Also my CT showed a lump in my right breast so I have to have a Mamogram and ultrasound of it on the 13th. I will keep you all posted on the results.

Good luck to everyone,

I'll be praying about the breast testing, too. What alot you've got to deal with now, sweetie. Please come in often and post, so we know what's going on with you. This site is so wonderful, caring, encouraging and informative. You're facing alot now, at such a young age, but many women here, know and care about your situation. Many young women have faced the same things you are going through now, as well. Just know you will have lots of support, prayers and good wishes coming your way ------------>sending you tons of hugs!!! Be praying for you. God bless.

Hi girls

Im going try to make this short for you, im not an expert but it sounds like you really need to find another , their is know reason that any one should have to beg to get the help they need, and I dont know if this will help but I find that most women are more sympathetic, or at least the one ive dealt with, but you do need to find another so you can get on with your life, good luck.
