Start Treatments Monday

Tomorrow I begin my chemo and radiation treatments. I am scared, that this will not finish off the cancer. But then again I confidant that it will. Does that make sence.

Some times I just want to . Other times I am okay with it and that I am going to beat this nasty monster. I just don't know what to do, it is like my life has been taken away from me. And someone else is pulling the strings. I have no control over what is going on.

I am bring me something to do while the chemo drug is dripping in. If for nothing else but to keep my mind off of it. I have one cross stitch thing, and a little flag to do. Will get more if needed. Oh yea a few X-mas tree ordaments, to do as well. Did any of you that have went thru chemo feel like doing anything?

Just pray for me and wish me luck as I go thru this valley. It is dark and scary, and I dont like it one bit. If possible send a host of angels to protect me from the dangers in this valley.

Hugs and Prayers, Jane

That chemo and radiation will knock out every last cancer cell in your body and put up a warning for any one that tries to sneak in. You make perfect sense worrying it won't work and hoping that it does--that's normal. Don't know what kind of chemo you're getting, and some take longer than others. My taxol/carbo last year was over 4 hours; this time, just a bit over half an hour. Do take something to keep you occupied--you can put it down and rest when you want to--because waiting can be very boring. Also, find out what they have--where I go it's only juice--and you may want to pack some cookies or a snack. I liked to read or do crossword puzzles to keep the time going. There'll be tons of angels around you and all the Hyster Sisters in spirit too.

Big time cyber hugs, Jane,
All my good thoughts will be with you Monday. Ellen pictures the cancer cells being stomped, crushed and killed off one by one. I love that image. It gives me power. It gives me control.

Also, remember, women are stronger than cancer *punch* and in groups we are an awesome power.
s and es,

Hi Jane... Good Luck tomorrow and hopefully it will not be as bad as you expect it to be. When i was having chemo it was a 5 hour ordeal...first hour for prep meds... then 3 hours of carboplatinum and one hour of taxol.. I brought lots of stuff to do and all kinds of goodies to munch on. Truthfully i hardly did anything that i brought with me. The chemo room was a cheery place and the nurses were all very talkative. some of the pre meds made me little tired so i used to give in and take a nap. having to make trips to the bathroom was always fun as you carried your chemo pole wherever you went and it took a while. There was always lots of conversations going on all around and before i knew it it was time to leave.
Good Good Luck and let me know how you do. Will be thinking of you

Dear Jane,

I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this. Whenever you are feeling scared, mad, or sad just think of all the women here. We will be with you tomorrow in spirit--and I MEAN that. You will never be alone tomorrow.

As far as angels go, I have a few and I'm sure you do too, and I promise that they will all be looking after you. Please be strong and I just know that this will be the beginning for you to beat this ugly monster and get on with your life. I know you can do it, and I will keep you with me tomorrow.

Please let me know how things go!

Sending lots of 's and prayers your way.

I don't think there's many of us who haven't felt the same way at some point during their battles. I remember having many, many mixed feelings when I began my treatments. I settled on trying to focus the anger I felt and aim it AT the cancer itself. I don't know how much it really helped fight it, but it sure helped ME alot.

I read alot and watched alot of TV during my treatments. During the longer ones, I walked the halls alot as well.

Please let us know how it goes for you, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
