First cycle after cone biopsy --- OUCH!!!

I had a CKC (cold knife conization) biopsy of my cervix and d/c performed on 10/17 and am now having my first menstrual cycle after the procedures. I am having heavy bleeding and extreme back pain and menstrual cramps. I have no history of pain or bothersome periods, so I'm a little concerned. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Laura,

I had a couple of Cone's but never a D&C. I don't remember the following period being different. Why don't you give your dr a call and and see what he has to say.

I agree with EM. If what you're experiencing is different from your norm, then a call to the doc is definitely in order. I had 2 D&C's and a cone, and I don't recall that my period was really in any way different.

Laura,
I agree with EM and Jeannie, too. I had 1 cone and 1 cone with
a D&C, but my periods did not change afterwards. Call your to ease your mind.

I had no change in period after cone either, but it sounds logical that it could be worse. A call to the is definitely in order though. Be sure to let us know what he has to say.
